A friend gave me a iPhone 5s. This is my first smartphone. After connecting with my home wifi and playing with it for a couple of days I went to AT&T and set up a "pay as you go" plan, $42.26 a month, no contract. The AT&T plan works fine for me, unlimited calls and text and 6 gigs of data a billing cycle. Since I don't do any social media 6 gigs is way more than plenty...

Pros... iPhone was free, iPhone carries very well in my back pocket. I have used iPhone as a hot spot for my laptop. There is a convenience factor that I did not anticipate but have come to enjoy about having internet connectivity pretty much anywhere I am at as long as the iPhone is in my pocket...

For what I am in for (free phone) there really no cons...

I am a little late to the smartphone game, but I am IN!!!

Got a BLU smartphone for my son last week for $140.

1/2 the weight of my Samsung Note 8.

        I was looking at these.
Just curious, can it do LTE speeds on your current provider, and what provider?

Huwaei flip phone, $30 to purchase, $15/month to run. Doesn't break if I drop it 3 inches onto a pillow. I'll never have a smart fone - too big to be a fone, too small and limited to be a computer, expensive to acquire, expensive to feed. The prices I see in this thread prove it - no thank you.

Moto g4 plus (4gb ram, 64gb memory). Camera is pretty decent. Battery life is great. 5.5" 1080p 424 dpi screen, unlocked vanilla Android (currently 7.1). Got it 18 months ago for $140 bucks. Still going strong. On t-mobile prepaid $30 plan (now extinct) with unlimited text and data plus 100 minutes talk.

Wife has a ZTE Z max. Paid $40 for it, unlocked as well. 2gb ram full HD screen. Kinda crappy but I had to browbeat her into getting one. She's on MintSim prepaid (t-mobile mvno), 60 bucks for 3 months. 2gb data, unlimited text and talk.

Both are rocking chinese-cheap cases bought for around $6 each on eBay. Both have survived drops, falls, and one intentional chucking in a rage. Never had a cracked screen. Knock wood.

Not looking forward to getting new phones (eventually) but I'll probably stick with the Moto G series. Because I'm cheap as hell.

Might I say the 16mp camera on this LG V20 is outstanding!

Samsung Galaxy S8. I used to be the kind to upgrade phones as soon as the new ones were released, but this one does everything I am looking for and the S9 isn't much of an upgrade.

My company phone is a Blackberry Keyone on AT&T. I've been a Blackberry user for the past 12 years and I've fallen in love with this phone. Switching from Blackberry OS to Android took some getting used to, but I don't miss BB10 anymore.

My personal phone is a Google Pixel 2 XL. I have a 2gb plan with T-Mobile for $50/month which is sufficient since I use my work phone the majority of the time. The camera on this phone is amazing. During the day, I don't even need to bring my DSLR with me anymore. I only bring it when I plan on shooting in low-light conditions.

after my phone got shattered got a nokia 6.1 and was lagging and got so hot. I am with an iPhone SE 32Gb. I am tired of phone, but I am more tired of google and fb tracking so I will stick with iPhone until they decide to track even more!
