    What phone are you using?

    Make/model
    Price you paid
what your service plan includes and cost
    pros and cons

Maybe it will be of use to those looking to replace or upgrade or even change service.

Mine is not fancy but I really like it.

ZTE Z MAX Z982 with Zizo ION case. I really like this case as well.

    Android Version 7.1.1

I got the phone last winter for $120 or so at metro pcs, maybe closer to $150 after taxes, getting it activated all that.

I was always a Verizon user and was kind of nervous about switching to Metro but have not had a single issue.

Verizon was charging me $45 a month for 2gb of data at 3G speed. On this phone, I pay $50 a month for Unlimited Data with 4G. That is $50 a month with no contract at all, just month to month.

    Pros.
Great phone so far, not a single hiccup. It is pretty responsive and has plenty of storage space for all my apps.

This phone is of the larger variety, 6.5" screen. Which is great for streaming video or viewing pics, reading comics or news sites etc. Nice front and rear cameras. 1080 at 30fps. It has a nice time lapse feature, I had fun putting this phone up on the wall at work and doing a time lapse of unloading the trucks.

The battery life is really good, if using it for checking emails, the occasional news app here and there and some pictures and phone calls, I might not need to charge it but once every 2 or 3 days. And when I do need to charge it, it charges really fast! 2 or 3 times faster than my older/smaller cell phones that have much shorter battery life. The battery life and fast charge are a big bonus.

This phone also has fingerprint tech so you can set up a pattern on the screen or just a fingerprint read on the rear button I feel I am getting my money's worth.

Metro PCS has been a pretty good service so far as well.

    Cons.
The only thing I consider to be a con on this phone is one of its pros, its size. It is small enough to put in a pocket and forget about unless I have it in my front pants pocket and then sit down to drive, car/truck/forklift etc. It is just large enough that it is too big in a pants pocket when sitting, It fits but is tight and you feel like you might hurt the phone.

The case I use is pretty great too. It has full protection all the way around and even all the buttons and ports are covered other than the mics. The charge port and headphone jack even have flip open tabs that keep the dirt and dust out.

    Funny you posted this;

Samsung J7 Prime (emergency purchase, my S6 got locked out)
    $150
Metro PCS unlimited plan; 2 phones at $95.00/month

Pros; cheap, does what I need

    Cons; None

I'll pay a premium for a nice rifle, car, etc. When it comes to cell phone service, why should I pay $250+ when I get coverage everywhere I go/have been for a lot less?

Pros: running custom android from Lineage and no google! Can use Fdroid and Yalp store to get any apps I want, but some do not work without Google Services.

Cons: most app notifications dont work since they need Google Services and wish it had a sd card slot, but since is not bloated I do with 32gb

Was using Lumia 950 till last week when it went swimming and did not come back to life. I now have a Alcatel Idol 4S that I got from Amazon for $109 (new). Prepaid ATT $40/month (42.26 with tax) unlimited text and talk, and I think 5 GB data.

LG V20: 64GB, 4GB RAM. 16MP Cam. (I swore I'd never pay full-retail for a T-Mobile phone, but those ~$100-$150 phones with 8-16GB sucked, even though I ran everything pretty-minimalist, with no games on any device I own.)
I did pay full-retail last year for this bitz.
All the Sub $120 8-16GB phones are only a backup now.

Just got another V20, NIB for the lady too, for $210.

~$120/month for 4 lines (4GB each, but never hit cap) on the grandfathered T-mobile Simple Choice (with non-.5Mb capped tethering, but full LTE tether speeds, it seems).
Work subsidizes $50/month for being on-call, on top of the on-call OT.
I researched the T-Mobile One plan plans with the Vet-discounts, and the tethering apparently sucks with the One-plans, unless you cough-up for faster tether, per phone...

iPhone X ($48/mo. with AppleCare included and new phone each year) I was buying outright before and still getting a new phone every 12-18 months...This plan saves me money (about 50%) and it has the insurance Applecare that I didn't have before.

I also have a BLU Studio XL 2 that I paid about $140 for on Amazon as a second phone/second line.

The rest of the family have various iPhones and Androids that I bought outright for $100-$300 each.

I have T-Mobile One which is unlimited calls, texts, LTE data with free international text and data roaming and the cheapest international call roaming rates out there. I have the military discount, so I pay $120/month for six lines plus a free 7th line for my Apple Watch...no additional taxes or fees, so it really is $120. $20/month per phone for unlimited everything...hard to beat that deal.

Phone- Google pixel XL. Bought used from a friend at work. Unlocked so I can use any service. Processor is fast and there are good cases available. Only two cons. Can't add a memory card, and battery isn't removable.

Service- Verizon prepaid. $53 a month, 7 gigs data, no contract, service is exactly as good as when I had 'regular' Verizon.

No reason to be on a contract anymore unless you need to have the latest phone and need to pay it off.

I had a Samsung S3 for several years with Verizon while paying ~$60 each month for what amounted to very little usage. I now pay $18/month with H20Wireless (Uses AT&T's network) for essentially the same plan. I use a Sonim XP6.

Pros: Android operating system, waterproof, dust/oil proof, impact resistant, loud, large battery (charge it every few days), physical buttons. 3 year manufacture warranty.

Cons: older Android system is not unsupported by some apps. physical buttons (butt dialed a couple times).

I'm still using an S4 mini. I've kept it because I can replace the battery. If I wanted to go bigger, is the S5 the last model with a replaceable battery? Thanks
