Iphone 8 with Verizon Unlimited.
Paid $600 for the phone after rebate during a Costco sale.
Pay $40 a month for unlimited everything. Service is better than Google Fi, Sprint, ATT, T-Mobile, Boost and Ting. I tried them all trying to save a buck. Bought all sorts of cheap android phones trying to get a nice one. Galaxy Note 3, 4, Galaxy S3,4,5,6,7 Nexus 5x, 6P, Motorola something or rather that was there best phone available. All total dog crap. Left android in the dust and went Iphone. I used to make fun of apple users, but damn is this thing fast, efficient, sleek, and it just works. I want an app, or it to do a thing and it just works. I don't need to change the stock SMS App because that feature is only in Go sms. and then grab another sms app because group texts work better on handcent , or dink with any settings. It just freaking works, which I need with my job as I cant play with phones anymore. I needed results and something reliable.
I also appreciate not having Google in my calls, texts, emails, searches, and spoken conversations. I started getting offers to pig hunts locally in ads, which is something I never searched or texted, only talked verbally with over beers with my Dad. F$#@ Google and everything it stands for.Last edited by woolymanx; 06-19-2018, 4:54 PM. Reason: $600 not $400. I had to look back at my receipts.Comment

Sadly the phone hardware is old and slow for Windows Phone now. It was one of my favorite OS of all time. Even more intuitive than my current Iphone was. Sadly Microsoft bungled that rollout like they do everything. Had they actually focused on it I firmly believe they could have had at least half of the market. It is measurably better than anything android, and they could have focused on the cheaper handset market. Much like blackberry, they didnt know their market and ruined a great thing. I would enjoy a blackberry like the Q10 with a faster processor and some decent app support.
It always boggles my mind how out of touch most companies are with their end users.Comment

Huawei mate 9 with tmobile. 3 lines for $80, unlimited, unthrottled everything. Verizon service is better, but if you're in a major metropolitan area, no difference.
The Huawei Mate series of phones are the best on the market in my view and have been for the last four years and 30—50 percent cheaper than the competition. In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.Comment

I am used to Windows 10 and Windows Mobile 10 is not that much different so it works well for me as I didn't really didn't have to learn a new system; it also seamlessly works with my other W10 units. I only use a few apps so the biggest criticism of WM10 (lack of apps} does not apply to me. It should last me till Andromeda units come out late this year and maybe even later.sigpicComment

Blackberry Classic. Have a TMobile plan that's pretty much unlimited for $22/mo. Paid $150 for the phone NIB from a seller on Amazon.
Sadly, Blackberry is going to cease any support for their software on their BB10 OS phones at the end of next year. While I'm usre it will still be mostly functional for a while, eventually I'll need to replace it.
Not sure what to get since I hate the Android and Apple formats. Blackberry 10 is so simple and useful. Very elegant. I also want the physical keyboard and some sort of track pad. I hate touchscreen-only phones and touchscreen typing. The one thing I do like about Apple phones is their approach to security. BB was supposedly good, but sold out to governments, unlike Apple.Comment

You forgot another Con for the ZTE. They do not release OS upgrades for their phones. Whatever OS your phone came with, that is the OS your ZTE will die with. I've had two ZTE's (ZTE zmax and now have the zmax PRO)so far. Great phones for the money. I have mine on MetroPCS with a $40 6GB plan.Make/model
Price you paid
what your service plan includes and cost
pros and cons
Maybe it will be of use to those looking to replace or upgrade or even change service.
Mine is not fancy but I really like it.

ZTE Z MAX Z982 with Zizo ION case. I really like this case as well.
Android Version 7.1.1
I got the phone last winter for $120 or so at metro pcs, maybe closer to $150 after taxes, getting it activated all that.
I was always a Verizon user and was kind of nervous about switching to Metro but have not had a single issue.
Verizon was charging me $45 a month for 2gb of data at 3G speed. On this phone, I pay $50 a month for Unlimited Data with 4G. That is $50 a month with no contract at all, just month to month.
Pros.
Great phone so far, not a single hiccup. It is pretty responsive and has plenty of storage space for all my apps.
This phone is of the larger variety, 6.5" screen. Which is great for streaming video or viewing pics, reading comics or news sites etc. Nice front and rear cameras. 1080 at 30fps. It has a nice time lapse feature, I had fun putting this phone up on the wall at work and doing a time lapse of unloading the trucks.
The battery life is really good, if using it for checking emails, the occasional news app here and there and some pictures and phone calls, I might not need to charge it but once every 2 or 3 days. And when I do need to charge it, it charges really fast! 2 or 3 times faster than my older/smaller cell phones that have much shorter battery life. The battery life and fast charge are a big bonus.
This phone also has fingerprint tech so you can set up a pattern on the screen or just a fingerprint read on the rear button I feel I am getting my money's worth.
Metro PCS has been a pretty good service so far as well.
Cons.
The only thing I consider to be a con on this phone is one of its pros, its size. It is small enough to put in a pocket and forget about unless I have it in my front pants pocket and then sit down to drive, car/truck/forklift etc. It is just large enough that it is too big in a pants pocket when sitting, It fits but is tight and you feel like you might hurt the phone.
The case I use is pretty great too. It has full protection all the way around and even all the buttons and ports are covered other than the mics. The charge port and headphone jack even have flip open tabs that keep the dirt and dust out.

With metro pcs, when I got this phone, when the next version of the phone comes out I get to upgrade for next to nothing. Will have to go check back on my contract, might even be free. You forgot another Con for the ZTE. They do not release OS upgrades for their phones. Samsung Galaxy S7 Active and I love it, best phone I've ever had. Need to buy an NIB backup. On AT&T, not sure how our family plan breaks down but it's way too expensive. Hoping this thing can be jailbroken to run on one of those cheaper carriers like H2O wireless.Comment

Samsung S7 Edge. Bought on 2 Ebay for 500 for the Pair. Tmobile. 60.00 a Month for both lines. Unlimited Talk and Text, use the Internet all the Time. Just got back from an Alaskan Cruise and the Phone worked every where there was Sevice, no Xtra Charges for Canada.Comment

Note 8 AT&T $31/MO phone, Family plan, like $140/month total.
It's a large phone that has a s-pen stylus that works. I like the display and the battery often lasts a whole day. I'm a power user and virtually run two businesses on my phone.
Pros: Thin and light. Durable, I've dropped it multiple times and haven't so much as a nick on my screen. It's sleek and elegant looking. The camera is outstanding for both videos and still photos.
Cons: Curved edges suck and are basically useless. Larger size means less pocket space. As big as the screen is, I still often fat finger the keyboard.Last edited by BakoJ; 06-24-2018, 7:48 PM.sigpic
