Yup, and virtually the SAME applications... only "gratis", with "choice" of features, devices, AND applications...
and then again... you have this...

    ...again.

Just quad-tripple click the "only" "useful" button, and pay WAY more for even less tech. Logic and reason:
Think different, pay the piper MOAR.
"Features" include "lag and CPU throttling", rather than telling you you need a new battery.

technically IOS refers to the cisco operating system well before apple had one.

Look into the Microsoft based nokia line of phones. Not really an app store like android and apple. but internet like you wanted and faily simple use.

Only the Android ones are Android, and the "spyware" was an Android thing. The old fashioned ones like the Tank II are not capable of running apps AFAIK. The linked phone *IS* G2 only so a person should see what's in their area for coverage. I think T-Mobile or Ting (which uses the T-Mobile network) should be fine but check first.

I see there is a newer version: https://www.amazon.com/BLU-Tank-Unlo.../dp/B01MXRVBME

But still G2 - I suspect the dumbphone chipsets are probably not being actively updated.

They may have had working versions of it, but androids best and until recently (IF that) version was what, 4.0? which means your precious android has been running off of an older os regardless, resulting in tons of user error that people didn’t know about becaus they just wanted a phone. Otherwise you had the Samsung thing happen, overclocking cpu’s and exploding phones.
Apple just took those half assed attempts to make something wonderful and new, made them better AND actually work as supposed to. Android just got caught up in a lot of hype when they DID actually work well
I actually believe it was Apple that had firmware that was crackable on their notebooks, (many times more 'Splodable a phone batt) and they had issues with overcharging because of that BEFORE any Android device had issues in the news.

And only Apple would NERF phones, and call it a "feature"... ... ...

There are some Linux phones out I think too, and you can probably still find a Windows phone.

If you're looking for an excuse to not have a cell phone, you just may have found one.

Amazon's Fire Phone is still around I believe, but it's more of a variation on Android. Also, I doubt Amazon is going to be any better of a company for you.

If you are tech savvy enough, you can find a few viable open source options, but expect apps and updates to be practically non-existent.

Hah, yes, the current phones on the market will continue to work, they are just no longer developing the OS for anything new.

Not sure how long they will actually support them (bug fixes and whatnot), but probably longer than the useful life of the phone.
