You should clarify if you have a Prusa i3 (Original Prusa i3 MK2) or an i3 clone. There is a big difference.

It is a clone, I said it was from MakerFarm I thought that made it obvious.

It is obvious but I assume your post is directed towards someone who is looking for their first printer and it would not be obvious to them.

Probably only violates 100 US patents. After all, it's just a gantry FDM.

Edit: oh, I see I was looking at the wrong machine, this is a polyjet clone. It probably violates thousands of patents in that case. The big clue was when the picture actually loaded.

Edit 2: still no, DLP. Okay, maybe down to 100 patents again. Stop buying Chinese crap. This is a "cute" technology to watch in time lapse, though. First saw it many years ago at a trade show.

Say what you will about Stratasys. I didn't really like the Makerbot acquisition for either company. Makerbot is complete garbage. Not even a toy. It's terrible, and I feel badly for anybody who spent their hard-earned money on one. But, the move by Stratasys was made out of cowardice and lack of vision.

That all being said, Stratasys makes wonderful machines that work, and work, and work, non-stop, and they honor their service contracts with the occasional thump to the head. I have printed many dumpsters full of parts, using many technologies. I would buy Stratasys without hesitation.

                  Nope.

"it's just" DLP SLA with clear resin.

I'm not convinced an FDM printer exists that's capable of this detail, the base of this model is the size of a dime.

Quite a few of the patents surrounding DLP printing expired around 2015, which may be why you're starting to see inexpensive DLP printers starting to hit the market.

FDM will never win any resolution wars, although it's layer height where FDM really gets creamed.

If you aren't familiar, though, do note that many if not most of the gooey technologies tend to yield brittle parts.

No, you just bought a machine that surely rides freely on the hard work of American engineers. Do you feel even a bit regretful about that?

Do you think about Germans that made the first cars every time to leave the house? If you aren't going to do anything but ***** about expired patents, I invite you to leave.

I havent made any progress on it since then. Almost done building the d-bot printer but I got distracted with the sla machine.
