The new Amazon Fire Stick and Kodi

Was curious what are the best options out there since there are so many both new and old to use with Kodi.

Currently I am using the fusiontvaddons but in order to view the content I selected I had to go to a specified URL to authorize the stream. Didn't like that much but it worked fine.

Haven't really tried too many other streams to see if that is typical or not. Just curious what those of you that have played around with it have decided is the best option for viewing.

    Thank you to all.

I have one of the new fire tvs and I installed Kodi on it last weekend so I wouldn't have to pay for Walking Dead. I used this youtube tutorial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma3sFaXRxj8 (sorry, never tried to embed before)

Easy peasy. I used my laptop to watch the video while installing it on my tv. The hardest part was using the firetv remote to type the urls using a virtual keyboard. I had to pause the video several times in order to keep up. Once installed, I added Phoenix, onechannel, and exodus.

Walking Dead aired at 8pm here, at 915 I was watching it, no fuss no muss.

The guy doing the videos does also have private pay to watch videos he will sell you for more in depth knowledge of the system I will probably do that tonight. Just remember, if you sign up to his newsletter, wait till he offers you half off before you buy his video package.HTH

And in all fairness, just because JMB did it doesn't mean anything. He'd have won WWII with a soup can, a fork, and a couple rocks. Seriously, even McGuyver and Steven Hawking get together every now and then and are like "How the **** did he do that?..."

Just click cancel, the video will still load or just choose a different source.

I dont recall a specific addon called fusion, but a lot of people use Exodus. 1channel is pretty good along with Phoenix like Stilly mentioned.

You definitely do not have to pay for more in depth knowledge of the system, for your use, there really isn't much to the system and you're just wasting time trying to "optimize" and "tweek" the settings. Sometimes, less is definitely more.

Have you guys ever used IPTV receiver ? I have one that I bought from Ebay for 150 and I get to watch 1400 channels U.S and international including high end channels you need to pay for it if you don't have the device like National Geo,History,Animal Planet and alot more .
Try to find a good one and you only pay about 60 a year.

I'll check out Phoenix, I also installed in on my MacBook just to get more familiar with it. Works well so far on everything I've tried. Thanks for the tips, all.

I'd blow off the firestick idea in favor of a Raspberry Pi 3 running Kodi and any add-ons you want!

I had Kodi running on the fire stick but it would constantly crash, so I switched to the fire TV box and did an Ares Wizard quick install of their Pulse CCM build.
You just go to Settings, File Manager and add a source with the URL http://areswizard.co.uk I think and then goto Settings, System, Add-ons and install from Zip
Once Ares is installed goto Program Add-ons and run it and install the pulse build
It's got pretty much every thing, Phoenix, Exodus, live streaming etc.
Literally takes only 15 mins and you go from having nothing in Kodi to being entirely setup

All I use is phoenix. I have exodus and from time to time I'll check it out but usually it's not worth it. Much less selection.

Is this the overall consensus between these two specific devices omitting price?
Yes. My Mom has the fire stick and has occasional problems with buffering and lag. I have the fire tv and I have had absolutely no buffering issues. The additional memory and faster processor make a big difference in my mind.

                            Your question is not clear.

Do you want to know how to install Kodi on your Fire Stick or are you asking for what sources/addons to watch?

Here is a link i found useful.
Two years ago, Amazon released its Fire TV, a tiny set-top box which brings media streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video to your living room. While Amazon offers its own app store, you’re also able to sideload any Android app APK yo

To install, the easiest way i think is to install an app called ES File Explorer then download Kodi and install.

Another way is more involved, you would need to use a computer.

As for the buffering issues, the specs on the Firestick is lacking. (You get what you pay for. it is still a very capable device)

To try avoid the buffering/caching issues, you can try to lower the ram usage. You can do that by going to the link i posted. The stick has 1 gb of ram, when it fills up and it keeps trying to do stuff, it will crash and bring you back to the Amazon Fire Stick home screen.

If you need any help, PM me.

i opted for the fire tv instead of the stick so i could purposely plug in to my router with a cat 5 cable. i have no buffering problems. with the stick, you have to connect wireless.....=buffering problems.
