For those who haven't fallen victim to the forced upgrade:

"Turn of the upgrade to the latest version of Windows through Windows Update"

You will need to be familiar with the MMC and accessing/modifying admin templates. It's not rocket surgery, but much like with the registry, you can inadvertently cause the OS to do weird things.

Or you can wait a couple months as the free upgrade is expiring and from then on it will cost money to upgrade to W10, so no more forced upgrades.

The latest changes are that booting takes about 20% longer and I have to right click the start menu in the lower left corner to get it to show the choices.

Left click it all day and nothing!
