I have found that the standard version satisfies all of my needs. However, next time I will get the pro version just as a means of ridding myself of some of this excess currency laying around the house.

I bought the "Arlo" it is motion activated wireless cameras that work via wi fi. easy to install and move around to suit your needs. the concern with ring doorbell or any other system that works via wi fi is that if the thief knows it is there cut the phone lines and no more cameras. I think better to have them out of sight so you can see them first and once you get alert call the cops!!

I saw that product at Costco and it looked interesting. I just can't get over my dislike of folk music though.

What did you do to activate it?

Pretty easy. Download the app and it walks you through set-up. Similar to an Amazon Echo and like. In terms of bandwidth, you're not on long enough for that to make a difference since it only records with tripped via Motion, or LIVE View. I have SHI**Y wifi due to the way my house is constructed and have yet to have an issue. I'm lucky to get 14MBs at times...

You can set the sensitivity factor on this - though it warns its a power suck if you're NOT hardwired. If you're experiencing a windy day or you have lots of cats in the yard - you may want to reduce the Motion Range (5 - 30ft) or turn off your alerts all together til the storm passes.

Ya... I run mine at about 10ft and it's not bad.
Took a bit to get it dialed in so we were not being constantly awakened at night. It's only really irritating on Thursday when the landscapers are working the complex.

I picked up the standard Ring doorbell and a stand alone unit (without the button). Although there is some lag answering someone immediately (waiting for app to load a live feed), I'm content how it is performing. Definetly, get a good wifi unit and internet connection.

I bought one a Costco and it came with one free year of cloud service. After that its 3 bucks a year if you want to keep it. You can still use it without a cloud. I like everything about it except for one thing. The motion detection system is to sensitive and I was getting many false alert reports. I have the sensitivity turned down to just 5 feet and it still went off when a car drove by and that's like 60 feet away. I just turned the motion sensor off and only use it when I'm expecting a package. Besides that it works great. The camera is a super wide angle and it picks up everything. I now when anybody comes to the house from the front door.

I have one, very sensitive to motion around my front door, we have a decorator door that sets it off about once an hour, the ring feature is good, able to talk with those who ring the front doorbell. I like it so far, other than the sensitivity.
