You're better off finding better deals if you consistently look online for computer parts throughout the year than shopping at black friday.

On the other hand, anyone want to sell me a GTX 970+ or R9 290x +?!

I've been monitoring Asus GTX 970 prices via pcpartpicker.com for a couple of months and it was never below $300. Just yesterday accidentally found a deal at an uncommon place - jet.com. They usually have high prices on PC parts but if you count free shipping, no tax, -50 coupon for new customers etc you could get a sweet deal.

Here is what I paid for Asus Strix GTX 970:
      Price Subtotal: $359.49
      Savings: -$41.65
      Promo Offer: -$50.00
      Shipping Fee: FREE
      Estimated Taxes*: $0.00
      Order Total: $267.84

Besides, Asus has a $20 rebate till 11/30 so the effective price is $247

Dedicated video, quick processor decent specs?

          Budget Gaming PC...

I once built one for someone because they wanted a cheap PC that their kids could play games on. Their kids were around 3-5 years old. So I asked what kind of games and they said nothing big, just little kids games...

So I put together a $500 system with 4 GB of RAM and an 5200 series graphics card.

THAT was not enough to run Bionicles and some other games they got for their kids... After getting *****ed at I got them a 6800 GT whatever AGP card and they were happy, but it was about another $200 (and thus $250 OVER their budget cheapie computer for their kids).

SO. After that I discovered that there really IS NO SUCH THING as a budget gaming system unless you are talking about MAME and old games that came out 5+ years ago. ANYTHING new will be state of the art (usually) and will require a newer graphics card.

I was mad because Skyrim never showed the dragons breathing fire or the flames at the campfires.

And I was REALLY pissed because for the first three hours that I played it, I was trying to figure out how to get that bloody mask off my head that made it look like BARS across the screen. Yeah, it took me three hours to realize that the other screen shots I saw were NOT from people that managed to get the mask off their head, but from people that had NEWER video cards that did not have graphics issues... I thought since my guy was starting in the back of a prison cart, he had a mask on his head... Geeze. What made it worse is that that one day when I started that ****ing game and the screen had the bars mostly gone, but in different locations, I started playing around with settings and after I got it to start with a clear screen I was so relieved that I started the game again, and then when the bars came back for NO reason, I would start and restart and when I got a clear screen, I left the game on for days at a time, just pausing it and switching over to the other computer. That game would crash about every 3-5 days but it was worth keeping it on to keep a clear screen since I could not afford to get a newer graphics card. And THEN I got my 285 and I was happy, and THEN when I got my 570 (because I felt like it) I discovered that there was also water foam/fog in the game! OMG! so I started it all over again to play it again... Damn I love that game.

SO, there IS NO BUDGET GAMING PC. There is an OLDER setup and a NEWER setup.

I was given a Phenom 955 Black edition and I built my game system around that cpu. I started with an 8800, then moved to a 9800, then to a 270, then a 285GT, and then now I have a 570 all EVGA cards.

My ram has stayed at 4GB and my CPU is still the same quad core running the same speed. I love it. But it seems that the ONLY thing that really allows me to play newer games is to upgrade the graphics card. You do NOT have to go top of the line, but maybe mid grade or near top and get a card that might be behind a year or two (OLD) and maybe even used. THAT will usually be determined by the way the game plays or looks. I am still mad that GTA 4 seems to drive cars in slow motion. Maybe it is time to upgrade my mobo and cpu after all. But I can't because I am stuck on Windows XP 32 BIT and I HATE to have to reinstall all of my games like Forged Alliance, YUSHU, Freight Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, CS 1.6 oh and about 30+ GB of Steam games...

Here is my logical advice for a "budget GAME SYSTEM":

IF GAME SYSTEM = not running all of the time
Then GAME SYSTEM = NEWER AMD CPU + MOBO
GAME SYSTEM GRAPHICS >/= 2 years old
GAME SYSTEM RAM >/= half capacity of mobo
GAME SYSTEM OS >/= Windows 7 64 BIT (if not 64 bit then RAM =4GB)
          ;;By reducing OS to 32 BIT you are creating a paradox game system that will FAIL with newer graphic cards and RAM by NOT being able to use more than 4GB total;;
GAME SYSTEM HD >/= (Seagate Hybrid < (SSD Main + 7200/10k HDD Storage/application drive))

          ELSE

Then GAME SYSTEM = NEWER AMD CPU + MOBO
GAME SYSTEM GRAPHICS </= Less than 1 year old + TOP LINE MODEL
GAME SYSTEM RAM >/= half capacity of mobo
GAME SYSTEM OS >/= Windows 7 64 BIT (if not 64 bit then RAM =4GB)
          ;;By reducing OS to 32 BIT you are creating a paradox game system that will FAIL with newer graphic cards and RAM by NOT being able to use more than 4GB total;;
GAME SYSTEM HD >/= (Seagate Hybrid < (SSD Main + 7200/10k HDD Storage/application drive))

          END IF

Please keep in mind that GAME systems are like PORN. PORN makes movie formats popular so if enough PORN follows certain movie formats, that dictates to everyone else what the next format will be. Yeah, Porn does really have weird control like that.

For the MOST part, your game system will be your MOST powerful computer in your house. It will be the fastest and chocked full with performance. If you make your FASTEST game machine a POS budget gamer that is only good at running Linux (because let's face it, that damn OS will run on anything old...) and whatever free games you can d/l for Linux then your experience is not going to be very good. This is the ONE computer that you do need to spend money on. You might not need to spend top of the line money, but at LEAST get 8 GB of RAM, a 64BIT OS and a graphics card that came out within the last two years. You can find an almost top of the line video card that came out within the last two years on ebay for around $100-$170 USUALLY. And doing this you can certainly meet your BUDGET price tag, but you need to change the way you think about this and you will NOT be buying one in any store.

And tere hanges you have it...

Oh wait a second... You play games on a laptop with the settings turned way down?

WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU? -COME HERE. You need to be slapped for admitting that... That is like admitting that you just went full retard. NOBODY recovers from that.

You do NOT play SKYRIM with the settings turned down! NEVER! (see? Full retard man...) That defeats the purpose of even loading it up. You might as well just load up minecraft... ON A LAPTOP EVEN! ullhair: :bangheadwall: :yourkillingmeman:

I'm rocking FX 8320E and believe using the same mobo as you. As for graphics card, I have have the 2GB Asus version. So far no complaints, I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I can play literally every game with decent FPS. I would drop your ram to 8gb, since the average person won't be using that much anyways. I suggest switching out your stock cpu cooler with a different one. I'm using a cooler master hyper 212 evo, very inexpensive and does the job.

            We have a similar set-up and I'm rocking dual monitors, a 27in and 28in.

What I think most people should do is ask themselves what they'll be doing on a daily basis. If you're a hardcore gamer, you should drop most of your money on a good graphics card. Everything else is just an add-on.

Good advice, the Hyper 212 Evo is a great cooler.

Looks like you have a nice "budget build" in mind. I checked the specs and your video card will fit the case without issue. I made that mistake. I am an Intel fanboy so I'm kinda biased on the cpu.

Much better than a laptop. Video card is limited to 2 GB so game textures need to be below that. For Fallout I'd guess that would prob put you around med-high or so.
Looks like a pretty good $600 build, although I'd bust the budget and buy an OEM or full Win 10 license.

That's a great setup bro I would hold off on the 960 and wait for black Friday. You should see some 970s this week for that price, and I mean last week they had 780ti Kingpins for $179 on EVGA B stock.

r9 290 will play the game fine, 300 series is just another rehash.
