Steam Hijack

My son got his steam account hijacked this morning and lost 5 years of games.

They somehow changed his email address and put all his items on the steam market, sold it, cashed out and dumped his account. Well over $1K of games gone. Poof!

He is a little upset now. Poor guy.

Your son either downloaded a keylogger malware, hack for a game that he paid for without you knowing so he can have unfair advantages in-game, or one of his friends sold him out. GG

Yeah, I think he got scammed. I believe someone sent him a message in the steam chat thing with a link and he clicked on it. When he realized what he had done, it was to late. He is very young, so I know he did not buy something to cheat. He told me that someone sent him a link and he click on it. He knows better, and has just learned a very valuable lesson.

That damn CS:GO has sucked well over $100 from my wallet. It is just a bad gambling problem I seem to have. I GOTTA buy keys to open those boxes because I WANT a damn stat track AK 47 of some sort!

if you are willingly paying for keys then its not steams fault.............will getting the AK thing make your life better in any way, and is spending $100 for keys hoping you will get the drop you want really worth it? if the answer is no, then think before you spend more money on keys next time.

Contact steam support, and see if they'll fix it. I havent dealt with their CS, but they MIGHT throw him a bone.

No, seriously, if you haven't played Hearthstone, it's a highly addictive card game from Blizzard. If you are interested, make sure you create your account with a fake name, since you won't be able to change it afterwards. And since you have a fake name, you can't use your Credit Card to buy booster packs.

Though, that doesn't stop you from buying pre-paid cards. . . . . . . . . but at least it'll slow you down in your moment of weakness.
