    A few things....

If you buy a high quality safe, it will not only last your lifetime, it can be handed down and last through your children's lifetime.

Also, buy once, cry once come to mind.

However, if the budget just wont allow then a cannon safe is better than no safe. It will keep children from accessing your gun(s) and deter the average smash and grab burglar.

It will not stop someone that is truly determined, has time and tools on their side.

There is no safe that is 100% burglar proof. With the right tools and someone who knows what there doing can get into any safe!

Check out sun welding safes. Their renegade series is right around your budget. You can also add custom features if u want.

This is basically the same safe that The Tractor Supply Store had on sale before Christmas. It is a good safe.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Tractor supply sells the same safe. You can get the the 72" model for a $100 more when on sale. I bought one of these as a second storage container. It has worked fine and the outlet inside made it really easy to install a light inside. I agree that it is not the best in security containers but is better than nothing at all.

The words "Tractor Supply" and "Good Safe" don't belong I'm the same sentence. They sell cheap Chinese imports.

Nearly any safe secured will stop amateur thieves . If a dialbolical POS professional type has targeted you, a safe alone will not protect your property . Other methods combined with a safe can .

Personally I would reject any safe with an electronic lock . Ive had 2 smaller safes (mossberg) and both units became unserviceable .
Safes that have the S+G type dials will outlive you and your children . They are a buy once item.

You've got it bro! Buy it and be happy.

Seeing some of these past discussions, it tends devolves into a pissing contest between people who think their brand of safe is superior (at 4x the money).

It reminds me of people who argue which is the better truck, Ford or Chevy.

I just bought this from west coast safes. Waiting on delivery. They said it's made by superior safes.

^^^This! Buy what you can afford, brother. If someone wants to ante up and buy you what they feel is superior, fine. Otherwise, it's just becomes a "my schwantz is the biggest" contest.

Problem with most of these safes I see is the locking mechanism, also not a fan of electronic locks.
