That's a good size but I guarantee there's not much more than some thin sheet steel in the walls and door. The 4" claimed on the door includes the frame and fire board.

having an electronic lock and internal hinges would prompt me to pass before even checking out other features, specs and claims by the manufacturer; personal preference.

How thick is the wall and door steel? A nice interior and flashy paint job does not make a quality safe. And there isn't a RSC rated gun "safe" on the market that doesn't have a lifetime warranty.

+1 on Liberty safes. If your not in a super hurry, come July when the Mid state fair rolls thru here(Paso Robles)you can get a KILLER deal from TnT liberty safes outta Bakersfield. Working an extra day every other to save up and buy one myself.

If the budget is $1K, then the Costco safes are the way to go. Otherwise, there are safes that offer a lot more but also cost more. Liberty and Cannon make some nice vaults but you will pay more...but youbget more too. And dont forget, safes usually hold only 50-75% of there rated gun carry capacity.... So buy big enough.

The door is 4 inches thick and the wall thickness is 12 gauge steel and I know its not the best safe made but for the price and fire rating and warranty I think it's pretty damn good my dad had the liberty fat boy there nice to but it's all about what you want to spend and I don't think anyone is going to get in mine before my home alarm goes off and the cops show up

If you want high end look at AmSec. With Liberty you're paying for the paint. They don't compare when it comes to security.

OP, it seems like a deal to me..

20 years ago, I too had a limit of 1K for my safe. I opted for a well built closet safe to store my high dollar stuff. I'm pushing it at 15 long guns with only one shelf for the good safe. As I buy more guns, ammo and accessories I move the lower dollar items to less secured safes\cabinets that are bolted down in other areas

These tool boxes are really nice for storing ammo and guns

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
                          Happiness is a warm gun.
