New range in Carlsbad needs our help!

Gunther Guns in Carlsbad is trying to open a range at their current location on Loker Avenue, and they need our help getting the city to approve their recreational use permit. The city of Carlsbad has already denied their application on the grounds that it does not consider a shooting range "recreational", and on Wednesday, February 18, at 6pm, the city is holding a public hearing to consider Gunther's appeal. CALGUNS needs to pack the hearing, and flood the Carlsbad planning commission with letters, emails and phone calls. You do not need to be a Carlsbad resident to influence this decision!! For the full story, please visit www.guntherguns.com.

I am in no way affiliated with Gunther Guns, just excited at the possibility of getting a shooting range 5 minutes from where I work. Also, Lisa and Gregg are good people.

Slapping an upper onto a lower is not "building" an AR-15.

I don't think it will. Every time I've been in to their current shop I'm impressed with the cleanliness and tidiness of the place. Very refreshing change from pretty much every other gun shop I've ever visited.

If you could provide an address or email or phone number, I will pass this along. My Dad, until recently, lived in Vista. I know his friends and church members would like to encourage the planning commission and support Gunther Guns.

I would be stoked if they opened a range there.

Will be happy to show up at the meeting and send the letter.

Amazing the lies our elected officials tell. A shooting range isn't for recreational shooting? WTF is it for then, professional shooting only, like snipers? I have a feeling we're dealing with irrational antis here, and they'll make up any BS they can.

Do they have room for a range there? I've only been to the shop a couple times and I can't think of where they would have space.
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

WASR10, the contact info for both Gunther and the Carlsbad planning commission are at the link in the OP.

pterrel, I'm not sure how much space they currently occupy, but there is empty space in the industrial complex they're in, so they could easily expand if needed.

My father in law is on the planning commission down there. He was the one yes vote. He said it will be a tough fight but he said with enough support it should happen!

Keep up the letters and calling and try and make it to the meeting!
