    Oak Tree Gripe

I understand Oak Tree Gun Club may have been beaten to the ground because of the whole "Smart Gun" BS but we should also address the fact that their customer service sucks.

So about two weeks ago I place an order on a rifle after waiting an hour for their slow workers to finally move the line only 8 costumers. The guy behind the counter tells me it will take about a week for the rifle to arrive and that they will call me when it arrives so I can start all my paper work, fine. No problems there.

Well two weeks go buy and no phone call. So I decided to call today around 2:00 and the lady that answered directed my call to the pro shop and told me "you may be on hold a while there are people waiting in the shop", ok whatever how long can a gun store put me on hold...
Well I was on hold for 35 minutes...
Finally someone answered the phone I asked my simple question, "Has my gun arrived yet?"
He told me to hold on and I waited for 5 minutes and he finally came back and said: "Sorry our Special order guy is not in right now call back in 15 minutes".
WTF he is trying to tell me that he can't go on to the store computer and look up something that simple, its not like I'm asking him to write me a computer program.

So I wait an hour and call back. Same lady answers and tells me that the pro shop line is not long and my call should go through quick.(Should have smelt that BS from a mile away)

So I wait... and wait... For 40 F-ing minutes and then the phone hangs up... I didn't touch the phone or anything, I'm pretty sure they screwed up and hung up on accident.

So I call again and my call goes straight through to the pro shop WTF. So I finally ask one of there sales reps to check the status of my rifle, apparently this guy knows how to run a computer and comes back and tells me the gun is in the shop...
    WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought they were supposed to call me when the gun arrived at the shop, but I guess since they already got their money customer service doesn't matter any more.

Alright I'm done. I know people are going to hate on me but honestly this was BS what I had to go through just to ask a 30 second question.

There are but I had a gift card with a significant amount of money for their. I actually know of a place now to go to, a small shop even closer to me than Oak Tree. I went there, a week ago, with my dad when he bought a Colt Commander and the guy was super nice and easy to deal with, I will be going there now for all my firearms needs.

Use Addax next time. They're top notch and just down the hill from you.

ETA: Ah! Didn't see the gift card part. Now I get why you went there.

I've shopped for a rifle and two handguns at Oak Tree. Prices are at least 10% higher then elsewhere.

What has worked best for me is go to Oak Tree (or Turners or ???) and take a look at what you want. Once you've decided, use a local FFL who participates on Calgun (develop a relationship), get a quote and if all looks good, place your order. I've done that numerous times. Saved myself quite a bit of money and have a trusted FFLer I can rely on for future purchases

I wouldn't care if it was chopped down or burnt to the ground. IDK how anyone can justify doing business with them.

That sucks, sorry OP. Nothing worse than a gift card for a place that doesn't deserve or even seem to want your business.

Been avoiding them since last year after the whole bruhahah and their refusal to clear the air - sucks too cuz they have a decent set-up.

Keep in mind Oak Tree is a vendor on CGN with their own vendor subforum.

Am I the ONLY PERSON who's never had a negative experience at Oaktree? The only downside I've had was the increase in membership prices and firings of friendly employees.
I've never had an issue with RO's, the pro shop or any of the ranges.

I never had a customer service issue here before I stopped going. My problem is how Oak Tree stabbed CA gun owners in the back for their 30 pieces of silver.

I have done about 8 dros with Oaktree for ftf and shipped firearms purchased on Gunbroker and have not had any big headaches with them. I had a firearm stolen from ups truck between Sylmar and Oaktree in newhall. They even took delivery of a lower without a bullet button and Shaun remved mag release till i got over there and put bb in. If I have a wait time I go and shoot some skeet or watch tv in club lounge and feed the big ugly friendly lab. Chill out or go elsewhere. I have been shooting there since 1974,
