    These rounds safe to shoot?

I believe these are reloads. They're .38 spl and they came with the gun I bought. Are they safe to use? Never seen bullets deformed like this before.

Hard to comment without pics of the deformation you are referring to. Nevertheless if you even question the safety of ammunition, don't shoot it.

If you're worried then get rid of them. No sense in risking injury for a couple of bucks worth of ammo.

Ah, those are some old school hollow points. I have the exact same ones. They will be fine to shoot if they aren't reloads. If you question them, don't shoot them.

The bullet tips being slightly deformed (from banging around in a baggie) will have no affect on being safe to shoot.

That being said, if you don't trust the source don't shoot the rounds.

Did you buy this gun on a street corner?

I only get loads like that when I buy a $100 special from some tweaker in a gas station parking lot.

Op, how about this. I'll take one of mine apart and show you the powder and charge weight. You do the same with one of your rounds and if they match up ittl be MORE likely factory. Of course, that won't be 100% fault proof.

My shooting buddy shot some reloads a few years ago that were too "Hot"
The result was a destroyed gun and metal frag in his face, he wears a nice scar now on his cheek .
Bottom line, Do not take the chance. Either "Pull the bullets" or toss em

I'd never shoot somebody else's reloads.
