Well we have never met (thankfully) but I bought a G21 and regretted it. I owned it and a ParaOrd P13 at the same time. Sold the G21 due to it being bigger in all dimensions compared to the P13 and not fitting my hand as well as the P13 either. The G21 always felt like it was going to slip out of my grip which made me squeeze it harder then I needed to and with a sock on it to offset that it was even bigger in my hand.
I do regret selling it though but ONLY because it would have been the cheapest way to a .50GI conversion.
Glocks work just as well (or poorly if you prefer) as pretty much any other pistol on the market so if you like them and it fits your hand then go for it. They just don't do anything for me and I much prefer a 1911 type pistol.
Not sure why so many Glock owners seem compelled to always justify their ownership with threads like this though.Comment

Funny thing is, I own about 4 Rugers a few other brands and only ONE Glock. Yet somehow, I trust my life with it, train with it most, my primary everything gun and even own Glock stickers, a sweater other Glock stuff and consider myself a Glock fanboy.WTB Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Stainless Steel and Blackbought a Kimber Stainless instead baby.Comment

Your a Ruger fan at heart, locked all of them up in the safe, and bought a Glock because they can be easily be replace, unlike your Rugers. You probably bought the sweaters and stickers because you thought G stands for gangsta!Comment

I fed my Glock 17 gen 2 a steady diet of crap for over 20 years. It never fails, unlike the ammo. It is still solid, comfortable and accurate. Not as accurate as my P226, but it's reliability is truly legendary. I got a gen 4 G17 and that is a nice gun. Enjoy the improvements. Very close to the P226 in groupings. For the price, you get an ugly reliable pistol that always goes bang. Light weight and holds enough rounds, I CCW my 17 along with my G26 and G30s, yes I like Glocks. I also like Sig, Colt and HK. I carry Glock. My P226 MK25 is just too heavy.
Guns are like cars. 426 hemi vs 428 cobra jet vs 427 Yenko. Hemi always wins! The same old argument..."taste great...no less filling"..bla..bla..bla...shoot what you like. That being said..why does the FBI issue G23 and G19s to new agents (to the glock haters)?Last edited by Mopar Guy; 12-22-2014, 11:36 PM.Comment

I'm too scared to CCW when people getting shot with no guns. Till the day we all can open and conceal carry I will. Not now though..I fed my Glock 17 gen 2 a steady diet of crap for over 20 years. Glocks are just fine. Definitely not the most attractive on the dance floor, but definately in the bangable matrix (pun intended). They seem to go bang every time, are accurate and fun to shoot.
That said, I like lots of other guns too. XD's, sig, 1911's, etc. Don't limit yourself to one brand/type, unless that's all you can afford. If that happens to be a glock nothing wrong with that.
Here's a drill I like to do at the range:
Take a few different guns (i.e. a glock, a 1911, a sig and a revolver), load 2-3 rounds in each magazine/cylinder. Set the guns in a row, mags out cylinders open, and have your range buddy say go. Pick one up, insert mag, charge, fire, put it down, move to the next gun and so on.
It's a lot if fun and will get you to the point that you can shoot whatever you put in your hand. Even though it feels different.
I am an equal opportunity gun owner.
Sorry, not sorry.
🎺

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!Comment

Agree with the OP. Have been at it over 30 yrs.
Am partial to German Sigs, and have had or have most everything.
But the card of (3) reads 42, 27 & 22.
Have owned my G22 since 1993, never a single issue.
Not a fanboy, just being honest.
Pros - Light, hold a bunch, accurate and always work.
Cons - not pretty, so so ergos, so so trigger, everyone has one.
Funny they are the least expensive ones I own.
Who would have thought........Last edited by MCM; 12-23-2014, 6:43 AM.

Most cops prefer Glock, they have them a reason. Enough said!Comment

Most of those cops have them issued to them, with no other choice. And that has more to do with $$$$ than anything else. Glock's don't fit everyone, or appeal to everyone. It is no more reliable than any other major brand, I think we can all agree on that. Well most of us anyway. Some are too blinded by fanboy status to even think there is anything other than Glock.Comment
