I've heard another twist on this - that all Senators are technically deputized, and as such are "law enforcement officers" with carry privileges. The way I heard it, Feinstein was behind making this happen, to get around her CCW embarrassment. Her letter says she doesn't "possess" a gun - maybe she borrows one. More likely, she just relies on her security team.

I can't say, here, what I feel about Feinstein, lest the ban hammer come down, but a Jew giving the Pope a cross made from guns... nice! I do like the new Pope, though.

The detonator activated and worked as designed. The explosive was of a cheap homemade type that has a severely inhibited reaction in below freezing temperatures.

Some explosives in a cold enough situation will actually burn rather than explode. Others, the actual explosion may take a second or two longer to initiate.

Look at the Lethal Weapon movie where Danny Glover is sitting on the toilet with a bomb strapped behind it. The EOD guys poured liquid nitrogen over the explosive to slow down the explosive reaction when it detonated. It still blew the bathroom to hell, but it didn't explode with the force that it would have, nor at the same speed as if it were at room temp.

Ive tried to make amends by contributing to her opponent in every election since then.

IIRC Feinstein said she carryed a gun after liberal supervisor Dan White went on a twinky diet and plugged a few local politicians. An action that coincidently landed Feinstien as mayor !

In my opinion, having security with arms is the same as carrying. Same goes for all of the liberal Hollywood anti gun celebrities. They say they don't believe in firearms, but they have hired security that carries. To me that means you do believe in firearms for protection.
