Yeah, I just bought three rifles there a few months ago, rimfire stuff I can't normally get at RifleGear. An hour for the DROS and 45 minutes for pick-up. Good thing my time isn't very valuable.

That's enough of that. Next time I'll ask RifleGear to order the rimfires for me. I'll save a lot of time.

Thats right! You can make more money, you can't make more time!

I avoid Turners unless I know I'm going to be helped by someone good who has helped me before!

This is asking for legal advice

This is asking for legal advice. Rephrasing it that you just want some information just repeats the question. Firearms laws in CA are so numerous and complicated that in some instances, only an attorney can answer them. There are a few attorneys who specialize in firearms law and there are several publications one can avail themselves to. Don't blame the clerk for refusing to give legal advice.

I've seen similar posts where people who are browsing for firearms get angry because the clerk didn't want to spend time with the lookyloos and only wanted to take care of the people who are spending money.

Turner's offers private party transfers for a fee...They should be informed on what they can and can not do per store policy. That is not legal advise.

Regarding Turners giving legal advice; they do all the time.... I've heard on a number of occasions employees telling people they can't add/do this/that to their guns because it is illegal.

To do a PPT, both parties needs to be alive and present at some point. Your situation falls outside the scope of a simple every-day PPT. Dealing with firearms and estates can be far more complicated than just transferring from A to B, and it's something a sales clerk isn't prepared to help you with.

People are always going to ***** if they don't get serviced right away. If you want better service, go when they are not busy. Otherwise you can browse the store and wait patiently like any other establishment you shop in. Don't expect to do a PPT within 1.5 hours of closing on a weekday.

I would have gone to a smaller and more specialized shop for this kind of transaction.

So if I take my 12 years old son to the gun shop to look forrrrrr, lets say a 20ga shotgun, we look at a few guns, we ask a few dunb questions and he decides he likes the 870 pump. I whip out my info and buy the gun for him. Is this a "straw purchase" ?

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I believe this is a straw purchase, you can buy it for yourself and take him to the range, that's about it though..

I find it hard to believe a guy would "stand behind you" & another would stand next to you & ask you to depart shortly thereafter. If in fact this happened, we're not getting the entire story. People in most cases, don't behave this way for no reason. Putting a deposit on a gun or saying "I've bought guns here before" does not mean a person CLEARED a background check, talk is cheap. The BS kicker for me is for the OP to come on here & suggest we start calling Turners, whatta joke.

This is coming from a guy who wont shop at Turners, lol.

I haven't read through this entire thread, but I have been in the Pasadena Turners twice within the last 7 years, and both times were just awful. Compared to Riflegear, City Arms, and other excellent retail stores in CA, this Turners was an absolute embarrassment. Each time, I dealt with morons. Never will step foot in one again.

She could have told me exactly that... Thats the information I was looking for. I was not looking for legal advise. If she did not have that information. the proper thing would have been to ask someone.

                            I don't think I was be unreasonable.

If I have purchased guns in the past, does mean I have cleared (as you put it) a background check.

I dont do business with turners anymore. I find it way easier to deal with yzernie and Baboosh. Just my two cents.
