Good apology... that said you aren't off the hook, you guys still have to ensure that requests are completed to the customer's specifications are followed the first time, and not requiring repeat visits to do it the way it was originally requested. If the OP had asked for silver solder initially, there should be no reason that it was ever epoxied in the first place. If the solder doesn't show up, then you tell the customer and let him make the decision.

No disrespect, but since you did not even have silver braze filler on hand, do you even know how to silver braze?Everything the poster said is true. We screwed the pooch. We did order the solder to redo it as the poster requested however for some reason or another, Brownells canceled the order without notifying us. I thought it was on the way but it wasn't. Needless to say it wasn't handled the way we would of liked. I did speak to the armorer who installed the epoxy originally and we did offer to redo it and refund the money paid but the OP wanted it silver soldered, so I ordered it as requested. So in summary, we deserve the feedback 100%. We are sorry.

Brownells was backordered on the flux, as they still are backordered. To expedite the customers order we ordered the epoxy instead as Brownells recommends it to attach sights.Good apology... that said you aren't off the hook, you guys still have to ensure that requests are completed to the customer's specifications are followed the first time, and not requiring repeat visits to do it the way it was originally requested. Interesting. A company offers a no BS apology. That is rare. Next thing would be for Parallax to fix it correctly for free and have a talk with their gunsmith.Comment

Nice to see someone taking responsibility for screwing up and not giving some cock and bull story of why the OP was wrong. Went there twice and had great experiences both timesEverything the poster said is true. We screwed the pooch. Was already offered to fix it for free with epoxy the correct method (fill in the sight and area.)
We did speak to the armorer.
This was our mistake and we dropped the ball. I forgot about the shells, if the OP still wants we'll send him a check for those too.sigpic

@ Parralax.
Again the proper way is to silver braze. Of course it will burn off the blueing someways down the barrel. $60 is a fair price, and then he can polish the braze to the joint and send it off to Mossberg for reblueing for $35. http://www.mossberg.com/service/barrel
Were you planning to mount and braze yourself? Or send it out? The indexing is critical for proper alignment.Alfred E. Neuman 2024

Good on you Parallax. If I lived down there I would absolutely buy from you.Comment

epoxy is fine as long as it is done properly. Though silver soldering is fine and easy to do
I have been a customer for a few years and many transactions with Parallax. My satisfaction level is high enough with them I drive nearly 40 miles each way (and right past a few other shops) to do business with them.Last edited by SloChicken; 10-16-2014, 3:01 PM.sigpic
