Your Bedside Safe Situation?

We all talk to our buddies and other forum members about "What we have next to the nightstand". I know half the time its a scattergun, and the other half a pistol, but I recently have been in the market for a pistol safe and just wanted to get your opinions.

I purchased the Minivault for about $110 on sale at turners, but I didnt mount it down because of the seemingly more quick "Hornady Rapid Safe", which you can use a bracelet and key fob to open. This got me thinking, how many of you keep your shotgun or your pistol next to your bed at night, and then safely store it away in the morning? And how many of those members have children? I know this would be a non-issue many years ago but now with all of the accidents, it seems more prudent to me to get a quick pistol safe and keep your shotgun in a small safe in the closet or under the bed....thoughts?

My gun (Mossberg 500 persuader w/ surefire light forearm) sits between my bed and the wall all night.

And stays there during the day. Sometimes it goes on a ride with me in my truck, and if I am away for a while then it goes in the safe.

my glock 23 sits in a something speed vault ready to go... I leave it there all day. I almost have 3 kids...

I use a Gunvault MV500 during the day but no kids in the house so at night my handgun comes out to stand guard. No need to open the safe before I use it.
I also like the fact if the batteries fail it has a key lock.

I keep my glock 35 in the bottom drawer of the nightstand. No lock, no vault.

Glock 17 with tlr on nightstand at night and around house on weekends when gone from house goes in safe.Comes out when I get home.

CZ SP-01 w/TLR-1s on nightstand (handheld flashlight also)

Nightstand is actually a TV stand that has the little open shelf underneath where a VCR would go, so gun is not readily visible but still accessible.

870 sits in the safe in the closet 10' away if I need it. Pistol should get me there.

Dog w/Bionic hearing (see avatar) and his little yapper backup taking up most of our bed, they will let me know if there's a bad guy in the house. (or if the cat wants in, or there's a Possum in the backyard)

Dog w/Bionic hearing will also let me know if there's a moth flying around the bedroom. (He really likes catching bugs)

Just my wife and I in the house so I don't have to worry about curious kids.

Everything goes in the safe when I leave.

My bed side safe is my 3'x5'x4' 24 gun vault 5 feet from my head in the corner.

Has all 14 guns at the ready, 3 loaded for grab and go access.

Also using a Gunvault for my Glock 19 and an extra mag.

A buddy of mine keeps magazines "strategically stored" all around the house (1 behind a picture frame at the entrance, one underneath a wooden floorboard in the office, one between the mattress...you get the idea).

Homak safe bolted inside of my nightstand drawer. I unlock it when I get home and lock it when I leave the house. 5 button electronic lock takes only a couple of seconds to open. Locking it is simply closing the lid, less than a second.
I can reach inside the drawer and grab my gun from inside the safe while laying in bed.

quick access MECHANICAL lock box under the bed. I don't trust electronics or needing a bracelet or similar. I can get in in under a second. If my Spidey senses are tingling, I will open the box before I go to bed and lock it up in the morning.
