So, when you guys go to the range to get some practice how much ammo do you usually burn thru? Assuming your going by your self and not sharing your firearm.. Just trying to see what the norm is..

How much Ammo

It depends on what I am doing.
For semi-auto pistol ... Usually it is at least 150-200 rounds in one morning. Sometimes, it can be as high as 300+ rounds.
For bolt guns ... Usually no more than 120 rounds in one morning. Typically, I only burn through about 60 to 80 rounds for load testing.
For semi-auto rifle ... especially semi-auto rimfire ... it is very easy to burn through 300+ rounds in one morning. I try and keep my rimfire burn down to around 150 rounds because of the shortages. -
Taking my time, practicing skills and not just making noise, taking notes and learning from my shots... about 400 absolute max, more typically about 200-250. All day.
At Appleseed we typically go through about 150 rounds on Saturday and 250 on Sunday. From experience, going faster doesn't produce better results.Riflemen Needed.

100-400 depending on what I'm doing.
If I'm just practicing coming out of the holster on target maybe 100.
Other types of drills maybe as much as 400."Hence it happened that all the armed prophets conquered, all the unarmed perished." - Niccolo MachiavelliComment

I love my son in law but when it comes to shooting he gets slap happy. he thinks nothing of shoot my M1 30-06 ammo as fast as he can pull the trigger.
he shoots everything he has and that is it. Me a shoot maybe 20-30 rounds of a couple of rifles and i am done for the day.Comment

It depends on what I am shooting and who is with me. I bring 100 rounds of 7.62x54r, 1000 rounds of 22lr, 200 rounds of 7.62x25 and 100 rounds of 45acp. I have learned, the farther away the range is from the house, the more ammo I bring.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

Usually around 1000 combined in .223, 7.62x39, 9mm, 12ga.
Due to limited ranges near me, I only go about twice a year, so when i do go I shoot a lot...Peace is that brief moment in history when everybody stands around reloading. - unknown

That's harsh! Ive gotten used to having some BLM land close to me (used to be a 15 minute drive). We go shooting on a whim. Might stay for 20 minutes, maybe 2 hours. New gun? Go hit it and leave.
Buddies still live next to it so it's always a friend visit too.Comment

around 100 rounds per trip, per gun.
anything beyond this my mind start to wonder and I pretty much just waste ammo at that point."trust me, I know what I'm doing"Comment

Depends what gun I'm shooting:
Any my Mosins: about 200 rounds
My 03' - About 100 rounds
My Enfield - About 100 rounds
My Steyr M95 - A couple of enbloc clips (5 rds per enbloc) and that's it!
.22 - I'll burn through a brick, easily
Handguns - 100 to 200 rounds"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.Comment
