If your ID does not have current address or is a PO Box, than you need to submit another proof of residency that satisfy ATF requirement. What's accepted by ATF is very different from CA DOJ.

If you have a valid vehicle registration issue by CA DMV with current address than it will satisfy both. If you don't have one because it's register in your parents' or wife's name, you might have to bring stuff like W2, Fed tax return to satisfy ATF on top of CA DOJ requirement. Utility bill is NOT accepted by ATF as 2nd proof of residency.
What the FFL told me when I bought my pistol is that if it's in a spouse or parent's name then that's still okay, they can just make a note that you all live together. I'd still prefer something with my own name on it but it will work in a pinch.

Hmm, not saying if that's right or wrong, at least we won't accept it if the residency proof does not have your name and address on it.
