S&W 629 Stealth Hunter 44Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).

Re-joined at Pala last monday. Shot about 100 55 grain varget loaded. Shot about 75 69 grain Nosler and hit the 600 yard steel plates accuratly with my 20" DTI 1/9 non-chromed barrel. I was jazzed that $159 barrel shoots that well.
My wife shot 300 rounds of .22LR through her Sun Devil purple AR with a .22LR Ceiner bolt added. I had a couple of jams from a crappy mag, she shot all 300 without one missfeed or problem. I never thought that thing would become so reliable as when I got them they would stick all the time. A good polishing and treatment with Slip 2000 made it work perfectly without any aftermarket "reliability" kits.
Next time I'll bring the Nosler and Hornady 75 and 77 grains, all Varget loaded. My goal is to hit the 890 yard steel plate.Comment

Iron Sites, yesterday. Shot the 9mm Shield and a new 14.5" Daniel Defense AR. My vision with iron sites pretty much sucks now at 62. Even with KNS crosshair site posts it's too blurry. I got a 2" spread when my 20" 6-18x scoped Del-ton will fill a 1/3" hole.
On to a 1-6 scope for that 14.5".Comment

Hopefully.... blanks.

My family and I took my girlfriend shooting this weekend. It was her first time and she did great! Kept good trigger discipline, never even came close to flagging/sweeping anyone, was very safe in general and quite a good shot too!
10/22 - about 3-4 test rounds. My gf was shooing it and the mags kept not feeding so I switched her to the .17 (Don't know the model but it's a Savage, stainless with a spiral fluted bull barrel)
.17 - 5 rounds. I sighted it in and then handed it to my girlie who proceeded to blow the center out of her target!
My new Double Badger ~10 rounds of .22 mag, and about 15 of .410 until it jammed and got put away for the day. The lever that opens it also cocks it at the BOTTOM of the stroke, so if you short stroke it and try to open it the spent shells snag the still-down firing pins and lock the gun up.
Win 1300 "Compact" - 25 rounds. The short stock is both a curse and a blessing. It's quick to shoulder and works well when I'm wearing a coat, but it clearly does not fit me at all and is not a natural pointer what so ever.
Dad's Citori O/U - 25 rounds. What can I say? This thing busts clays like no other. I couldn't miss even if I tried! I shot about 6/25 with my 1300, and then on the next round shot 24/25 with the Citori!
1911- 30ish rounds. I would have shot more but the range was closing.
I didn't shoot a whole lot on this trip, I spent most of my time teaching/spotting for my girlfriend.Last edited by boy&hisdogs; 10-29-2014, 11:55 PM.
