                            Why? Afraid the 1911 is going to flinch when the flash goes off? Even if it's unloaded, you're supposed to be following the basic firearm safety rules. If those rules are being followed, then it doesn't matter if it actually is loaded.

                              Well is know your firearm a basic rule? Is so then when the hammer is back on a 1911 the safety should be on until ready to fire.

                                Also, leaving a loaded cocked and unlocked 1911 on a table while you play photographer isn't exactly my idea of safe gun handling. What iif someone in the house, like a kid or spouse picks up the gun and has an nd.
