I would absolutely respond. I have no issue going head to head with the liberal types that frequent facebook. It's actually kind of funny sometimes when they get all bent out of shape.

For this one, I would respond something like this.

"WOW, those are some big numbers. Don't forget about the 4486 US soldiers that died in Iraq and 2344 soldiers that died in Afghanistan. Those individuals didn't have a choice to go, but lived and died by the orders they received. This is exactly the reason why we need a smaller government and the second amendment is the last line of defense against a government that has grown so big that it is a danger to the US citizens and citizens abroad."

Of course, my argument only works if you feel we should not have gone back to Iraq and Afghanistan.

As an active duty service-member, I do take offense at the above notion that we have no choice to go to war. This is a volunteer service, and no one was forced to go to war against their will. Please don't make your political points while demeaning the choice that these men and women made.

Tell her if she cares so much for the casualties of war that occurred in the mid east that you would purchase her a round trip ticket to Iraq and Syria to visit the families of the lost.
I would personally help pay for her round trip ticket and take up a collection for her travels, transportation and an American shirt that she can put on every day while she is visiting the families.

No offense intended. I was under the impression, perhaps mistakenly, that once you freely enlist, you don't get to choose anymore.

The numbers immediately looked bogus to me. I didn't look at the other countries but Iraq of course was not a response to 9-11 directly. Sodamn Insane had so many chances to prevent what occurred, he was responsible ultimately to comply and flagrantly defied UN agreements. Again UN agreements, somehow everyone seems to "forget" that little part of it.

The Iraq Body Count project (IBC project), incorporating subsequent reports, has reported that by the end of the major combat phase up to April 30, 2003, 7,419 civilians had been killed, primarily by U.S. air-and-ground forces.[18][86]

It shows a total range of at least 110,591 to 120,816 civilian deaths in the whole conflict as of December 12, 2012

You're not. I have no idea what military Art is in, but a US Servicemember does not have the option to pick and choose a deployment. You get orders to deploy, you deploy.

If not, youre "uncool"! (Im only 27 btw)... yeah **** that noise.

I have a cell phone and email address; call, text or email me. my life doesnt need to be broadcast for the world, and our encroaching government to see.. You'd think pro-gunners like us would read between the lines more in that regard.

It looks like its in reference to the innocent casualties. Why the hell would anybody have a problem that statement. While that individual may be a liberal I may not agree with 90% of their views. There is nothing wrong with that post. At least not literally.
