10 rounds in more than enough!

    Unless you need 11.......

There is a reason the M-16 was designed to carry 20 rounds and a reason that 30 round magazines were adopted after that. There is a reason Police carry high capacity magazines, and there is a reason why the State doesn't want you to have magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Could I handle most situations with only 10 rounds? Maybe, but I'd rather not have to find out, and if I did, I'd much rather have 30.

In aviation we say that one of the most worthless things is fuel you left on the ground, well in combat one of the most worthless things is ammo you left in the rear (your safe).

You've never been in a gun fight have you? I have. It wasn't pretty.

That the military commonly uses cover fire as a combat tactic.

That the numbers also include ammunition expended in training exercises, theft, damage, and other losses.

That it simply impossible to state how many rounds were expended for every enemy kill.

This type of "thousands of rounds per kill" nonsense is simply absurd.

Well, yeah - but some people have pre-ban 20-rd mags to slap into their 1911s....

....and 30-rd mags for their High Powers...

Almost in defense of our 10 round max law. Easy for them to say since both own preban mags.

Anyone here agree with that thinking?
That's crazy thinking. Why would anyone willingly handicap themselves in a self defense gunfight against criminals using illegal but normal capacity (15 round mags) or higher capacity 30+ round mags.

Normal mag capacity for my gun is 15 rounds. My handicapped capacity mag holds only 10 rounds. I don't have a normal capacity mag in California because they are illegal.

Self defense is a right that must not be regulated.

I got dibs on this guys gear.

Whoever said thousands of rounds for 1 kill.

Ever heard of supressive fire, you would be suprised what can be done when your enemy has their head down.

Thats what a 12 gauge with an improved cylinder loaded with 00 Buck is for. Its like having 9 rounds in every shot.

i hate the 10 round law... honestly it does no good at all. If you cant have more then 10 rounds in a gun at a time, it just makes people want to carry 2 guns. But 10 rounds really should be enough. if i had to use a firearm and couldnt do what i needed to do in 3 rounds TOPS i should have ran to begin with.

I only carry 9 rounds in my 1911. It'll be enough for me to stop 8-9 threats. If I need more ammo between reloads, I shouldn't have put myself in that situation in the first place. If I was planning on going into a combat situation, I'd be thinking differently. Of course, anyone that only carrys 10 rounds in a pistol with a 10 round mag might want to consider carring 10+1 for 11 rounds at hand instead of 10. BTW, most SD gun fights in the US are either over after one round is fired from either party or they end without either party getting hit. So, practise is far more important than having a few extra rounds in a mag.
