    10 rounds enough?

Whenever the subject of firearms and SHTF comes up in conversation with either my brother or father, they always give me the same line.

"if I cant stop them with ten rounds, I deserve to be dead."

Almost in defense of our 10 round max law.
Anyone here agree with that thinking?

It reminds me of the koreatown riot video. Those dudes definitely needed some hi-caps in that situation!

Who ever says that 10 rounds is enough, they are so wrong. When you get into a two way range at close quarters, chances are that you will miss your target because you will be nervous/shaking etc.

+1000 on what USN Chief said. There might be more than 10 bad guys.

And if you don't believe me ask the LA PD.

I've never had paper target shoot back yet, so using that line of thinking, yes, 10 rounds is enough.

If you're a shop owner in Korea town you'll need more than 10 rounds. If you CCW, 10 + 1 will hopefully get you by. I like to travel light so I often just carry my j-frame which holds five rounds. And yes, I sometimes feel out gunned, but since it's been warm lately I haven't felt like "dressing around my gun" so that I could hide something bigger. I don't like a lotta junk on my belt, so I don't carry an extra mag when I carry a bigger gun.

The link below shows an anaylsis of NYPD shootings. It shows that only 11% of shots found their mark in gun battles in the 3-7 yard range. It contains some other interesting facts

30 rds down to 10, at least make it 15 for the ARs. As for handguns 10 rds seem to be alright, but 12 or 15 would be nicer.

The standard M&P .40 can hold 15 rds, it would be nice to have at least 12.

Since when is there such a thing as having too much ammo available?

Who said you only get to carry one mag? Carry as many as necessary.
