Well, in each modern war, on average tens of thousands of rounds are spent to kill a single enemy. That should tell you something.

      No.

May I - somewhat irreverently - suggest that an appropriate analogy may be found with toilet paper?

That's like saying you only "need" 3-4 squares of TP:

-Sometimes you can get away with it
-If you run out, it'll get messy
-By the time you figure out that you're full of , they've caught you with your pants down

That's because rifle grenades aren't considered a normal self-defense weapon in these parts, as they may prevent the identification of the perp. Beats me why, one can scrape enough off the pavement for DNA testing.

Considering the range of most SD encounters, odds are CSI would be scraping both parties off the pavement

Wow man, I don't know about those store owners. Defending your business is one thing. Standing outside your business taking pot shots at "anyone and everyone" is another thing.

I can understand their outrage at being robbed, but damn dude, the chances of hitting innocents seems way to high.

1 round is enough...so of course 10 rounds is enough...people favor 1911's and they only hold what 7-8 rounds.

It's not a matter of what is enough it's up to the individual person to decide if how many they want to carry. If another 5 rounds is the different between life and death...I want the other 5 rounds personally.

10 round magzines but 40 loaded magazines ftw...

looks like them Koreans could use some trigger discipline. Indiscriminately shooting into a crowd isn't cool.
Wish they had more video of the rest of the shootout.

I doubt they were aiming at anyone and everyone, only the looters who already had stuff or were coming back for more.

IMHO, it is better to have and not need it, rather than to need and not have it.

Like what what most folks said, if shooting paper 10 is enough. But if the target or targets are shooting back you will definitely need more.

Find a place where you can try simunition round (real gun, real mags, small plastic paint filled bullets, and real pain). That will get the nerves and adrenaline going plus you now have a moving/advancing target, or even a target that is shooting back. Those ten rounds will go quick and may not be enough. I say carry what you can, an extra mag is nothing if your already carrying your gun.

I'm fine with 10 rounds if I'm at the range or shooting at a friend's property.

SHTF is a completely different story. The more the better.

My old Top was a old school guy. I took after him. his whole philosophy was
ill take firepower over anything else. Personally 10 rounds should be enough if youre covered and ambushing someone and you have surprise on your side but for a fire fight yeah i would like more than 10 rounds. being a good or bad shot has nothing to do with it. there are plenty of good and bad shots everywhere. If you have more ammo in your rifle/pistol than the other guy you can keep firing advancing and overrun his position and ultimately kill him. That being said if the guy is a good shot and can keep his wits about him and not crumple you could have all the firepower in the world one round is all it takes to shut you down. but for your average person they will most likely blow through 30 rounds and think they only fired 5. i remember once one of the guy swas at the range and worked himself up so much he was empty but was still shooting non bullets. later he told me it felt like he was still shooting even though his rifle was empty. the DI came over and jumped all over his s**t. made him run all over the place that day

Almost in defense of our 10 round max law. Easy for them to say since both own preban mags.

It reminds me of the koreatown riot video. Those dudes definitely needed some hi-caps in that situation!
