Any class 3's that transfer AOW's

just wondering has anyone found a class 3 that will transfer an AOW to a civilian ( after you recieve your stamp)? I found a group buy on the serbu shorties and have a serious itch I need to scratch.

I keep meaning to talk to my local class 3 dealer, but I never have the time to stop by and talk to him when he is at the store. None of the employees know anything, so I have to talk to the owner.

IIRC, there is another option. Any FFL can receive the AOW in, don't have to be class 3. However, the transfer to that dealer is not tax exempt. That transfer would cost $5 and then it would transfer to you for $5. An extra $5, not a big deal. Now, if it was a $200, then that double-dip would be a big deal.

That's correct. Purchase a pistol grip only shotgun, apply for tax stamp on form 1, when approved create AOW. The best part about AOW's is that they are only $5.

AOWs transfer on a $5 tax stamp Form 4. But to make one yourself, it costs $200 on a Form 1. An 07/02 SOT Manufacturer like M24armorer can modify your PGO shotgun and return it to you on a $5 Form 4 + his fees. In the end, it costs about the same, and you don't have to do the mods or get the engraving done.

One does need an NFA trust to do this in California and one should make sure to get a good NFA trust.

I think I remember hearing something like that. Like maybe it (shorty shotgun) qualifies as a pistol, possibly for CC. I don't know though.

You have to be 21yo to buy an AOW from a dealer or manufacturer but you can be 18yo and Form 1 your own. You can also be 18yo and Form 4 an AOW from another individual.
