The weather would make me more miserable than California gun laws.

    But that's just me.

    Wishing you the best -

Let's see..... You are from Torrance and moving to Texas, sounds like you may be a Toyota employee. I heard they are closing the facility and moving to Texas.
I drive thru Texas all the time, you will love it. One tip for you, dont tell Texans you are from California, you may be treated badly. Little subtle things. They are not too happy about our state and think all us California people are anti gun democrats like Gov Brown. Go to TX DMV and get Texas plates for your cars as soon as possible.

No I'm not working for Toyota, but Torrance might be pretty empty after they move. I'm one of those guys who has a family and decided not to have a 650k mortgage in my back fur just an old home in CA. Cost of living is just ridicules out here. I'm moving from a 2BD apt to a 4BD house for the same monthly rent and making the same money in TX as CA . Also don't forget they have no state income tax. Yes I know there's a higher property tax but who cares that 1pct if your future home is just 1/3 or 1/2 compared to CA. The easier 2A situation is just a bonus for me, it was not the primary reason why I move. I just didn't want to live in a chicken coop

Higher property taxes mean FAR better school for you kids in Texas. Somewhat different than in California.
True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

Hey, another 6 to 8 weeks and it should be cooling down to just hot.
