Just made the move to Utah, it's a great thing. I am still active in California gun politics. Still writing the letters and participating.

Enjoy everything it has to offer. I'm overall impressed at what Utah is doing here with their laws, economy, and jobs -not to mention the amazing 2nd Amendment recognition here. Enjoy it!

If you get a chance, go check out east Dallas to see what it has to offer. Just go armed!

who cares about that crap, check out GT Distributors in Austin. Best gun shop you will ever find.

Silencershop is another awesome Austin gun shop. Google Jim Willie, hes an Austin based lawyer who does NFA trusts for like $300

I grew up on the SF peninsula.

Moved to TX for 15 years with zero regrets. FAR better schools for kids, neighbors who watched out for each other, lower tax rates, not nearly the level of political BS in California. Generally little, if any, nanny-state attitudes, far more attractive females, and the attitude toward RKBA and the lack of related laws was icing on the cake. No sagebrush within 100 miles in any direction.

So-Cal is so far from "paradise" as to be pathetic, generally.

As an ex-N.Californian, the scenery in Idaho surpasses California, to put it mildly.

Save the beaches, maybe. Though a weekend on SF beaches is a traffic nightmare.

If you like to Kayak, check Idaho, particularly the north fork of the Payette.

California feels like Europe already, I'm from Germany so you pretty much got raped by taxes the same way in California. Talked with the relocation company and they will chip the firearms for me so that would solve my question pretty much. Just have to travel with ammo

Good luck. Visited Dallas several times. Reminded me of Modesto. (Sorry Modestoans). Hope it works out for you.

The 1986 Volkmer amendment makes it legal to travel with firearms across states if the guns are locked, unloaded, legal where you start and end.

The only decision is if you leave them in your car or hotel room at night???
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                              (thanks to Jeff Cooper)
