    Sold on Ruger

I recently accidentally dropped the slide of my old, beat-to-$h1t LCP off a second story balcony onto the concrete walk below and damaged it so that it couldn't fit back on the frame. I sent the gun in to Ruger asking if there was anything they could do to fix it, and telling them that if they could fix it to go ahead and do so and send me a bill. When I got an automated phone call from FedEx just a couple of days later, indicating that it had been sent back, I thought for sure that Ruger couldn't (or wouldn't) repair ye olde LCP and was sending back my broken gun to be sent off to the gun graveyard. Imagine my surprise when the gun arrived the next day and I opened the box and saw that Ruger had replaced the slide, barrel and all the other parts, all for free. It looks and feels like a brand new gun. And they didn't charge me a single cent. I got so much for nothing, I actually almost feel guilty about it.

Ruger kicks 4$$ and can have my business anytime. Just ordered 100 rounds of Hydra-Shok (my chosen carry round) from Midway and will go to the range and see how this baby functions in a few days. But given Ruger's stellar reputation, I seriously doubt there'll be any problems.

There's one downside to this situation though: now I don't have an excuse to buy that Kahr CW380 I had my eye on...

Nice...now that's customer service doesn't cost them much and is worth for the returning customers.

Zonie, I guess you are going to have to drop the pistol juggling segment from your variety show act now, huh?

Glad to hear that Ruger's service is up to snuff. I've never had an issue with them and my father has had two handguns repaired by them with sterling results each time.

You were without your gun--presumably a CCW or carry gun--for the entire time it took you to ship your Ruger for repair and for it to come back.

You clearly need a Kahr CW380 as a backup.

It's leetspeak for a three-letter, four-letter word that the site's filter won't let me post.

Old LCP? I don't think the design has been around long enough to call it "old".

obviously you need to buy another Ruger to cure your guilt.

I'd buy a Ruger if they had a semi worth owning.

Ruger is great. I needed parts for a second hand Mini14 and they sent them free and free of charge. I told them I bought it used knowing it was broken and I'll pay and the lady said no need.

I buy Ruger when I can.

Their customer service is A+. I had an issue disassembling my new Mark III Comp. My gun smith also dinged the rear sight trying to tap out the seized rear plunger. Ruger repaired it and replaced the rear sight free. My interaction with them over the phone was also very positive. No regrets buying Ruger at all.
