      Indoor
      On average about...

      500 - 9mm
      250 - 40s&w
      300 - 45acp
      400 - 5.56

Sometimes 20 rounds of slug and 250 of 357/38 if I'm feeling fun

      Outdoor

Usually about 500 rounds each of my pistol calibers
      400 - 5.56
      100 - 308
      200 - 12g

      Desert trip?

Depending on how many days but for a 2 day trip I usually take on average

      1,500 - 9mm
      800 - 40s&w
      700 -45acp
      500 -357
      500 - 38
      500 - 39
      350 - 12g
      200 - 308

Most of the time I shoot through all of it but if I go with more people who plan on shooting my guns more than me I tend to take what I feel like lettig them waste or they WILL and DO blow through all of it. Then if/when it comes up in conversation that they just shot about $150 - $500 worth of ammo their faces are priceless and then they understand why I only take out my good friends out shooting now.

I use to take out anyone and everyone until I realized why I was always broke and that people were going through $200 of ammo every range trip on my expense.

Usually about 1K rounds of various calibers. Bulk pack of 22LR, a couple boxes of minimags, couple hundred 223, hundred 357, couple hundred 9mm. Sometimes a few 7.62x39 or 7.62x54.

But, it does vary by what, and who, is going on the trip.

Rarely do I go through all of the ammo I bring. Usually go through about half the bulk pack, all of the mini-mags, and half (or less) of the remaining.

about 100 rounds per guns i bring,

If only bring two guns 150 rounds and make them count

just like throwing 25c per round at paper targets

Same for me. Sometimes a little more. Better to have too much than not enough

I don't use it all. I just want to have enough to shoot all I want.

Although a couple times I have gotten into the mid 300s on the 223. Other times its a little under 200...

No more than I can safely carry in a 3/4 ton truck.

Seriously, it depends. The last time I went to a "range" I took about 350 rounds of 50BMG and probably 4000 more rounds of various "little" cartridges.

                  Average range day:
                  9 - 150-200 rounds
                  45 - 150-200 rounds
                  5.56 - 300 rounds
                  .308 - 150 rounds
                  12g - 100 rounds

I don't use it all up. I just always bring more than I need, in terms of both guns and ammo. Often times, 1/3 of the guns I bring don't even get used.

The I have are (mostly) in ammo (large) cans.

Do I always bring more than I need - you bet!

I would rather bring ammo back than run out!

I usually take around 100-150 rounds for each firearm I take. The only exception is for the mosin I take around 30-40 and then I am done shooting it. I shoot common aka cheap calibers like 9mm, 7.62x39, .223/5.56 and 12ga. I remember I took 200 rounds of 5.56 to the range one time to run threw my dad's mini 14 plus which some ammo for the other guns I took and was like damn I just spent a ton of money I think it was a $200 range day forsure.

I don't do ranges but for each firearm usually only two or three at a time I shoot less than 20 rounds per center fire gun, 22's get a bit more. I don't shoot just to shoot and how many one hole groups do you need to see?

I think how often you make it to the range would be good info too. I try and go 1-3 times a week, averaging 2.

If I was bringing 500 rounds a trip that would be insane (to me).

But, if I could only get out there once a month, I would bring a lot of ammo.

All of it. I also bring my reloading set and work with the spent brass.
