    Thought so.

Just some friendly advice guys, hope some will listen. The DOJ has had issues, that is a fact, but you also haven't heard their side of the story, not that any of you would care.
Nope, don't know, and don't care.

The DOJ is an executive agency, not legislative. If they want to make up their own rules, again, they wont get far.

If you or the company you work for wants to give in to their FUD and intimidation, rather than do what is allowed by law, that is your prerogatived.

But there have been homebuilt AK pistols registered with the DOJ. And with the scrutiny given to the law, there is absolutely no reason why you should be posting your (and their) FUD here.

that's some pretty serious fud... and while it is fud... the problem is that fud generates all those wasted tax dollars on legislation against the 2nd amendment to begin with :[

to an individual with regular means of income and representation it could be devastatingly debilitating. is there ever counter suing that goes on for all the monetary damages from these false/underground regulations?

I have to say that is one nice build you have. I have to give you thumbs up because that is very unique and you are probably the only one that has that in that configuration.

As for MATT, You know for a fact if you ask those agencies they will only tell you what they want you to know and follow. They will not state what is law only fud. There are several people here that know more about our laws than they do. Even lawyers ask us calgunners what is the laws on OLL and we can even state the PC and court decision on this subject. Try asking them if they can state what comes out of there pie hole.

Its really getting to me how some venders sells ar, ak, FALS and such and when s@#t hits the fan they abandon what they know what s letter of the law. For example brightspot, Rememeber that fiasco with the AK. Well, We won because we know we are working within the letter of the law. I guess I can dish Matt is talking with Jandj armory. Just my .02 cents.

          Curious

How much did you spend to make this gun roughly?

Let us know how well it shoots.

Looks like a nice nitch between a handgun gun and a carbine.

I finally went and shot it today, putting 180 rounds through it without any cycling problems. It has a sharp kick, but very little muzzle climb due to the J-Tac compensator. I fired it with one hand and it jumped less than a .45acp handgun. Accuracy is good if you take the time to carefully align the sights, although this gets tiring because it's heavy for a non-shouldered weapon. I didn't shoot any groups, but when I do I hope to get the same accuracy as a regular AK. The 12.5" sight radius isn't too shabby.

I did run into a couple of issues, one of which I've never heard of before. After each shot, the safety lever would jump up a little bit. I guess I'll have to carefully cut the detent a little deeper.. The screws that hold the rear sight on also came loose, so I'll need to put loctite on them. And finally the muzzle brake slowly managed it loosen as well, so I'll need to reinstall it more tightly this time.

I was approached by a couple of guys almost immediately after I brought out the AK, and asked about it and the AR I had. I briefly explained the concept of tool-released "fixed" mags and referred them to Calguns for more info. They were shooting a pump-action AK so I think they'd be glad to find out that there are other legal alternatives.

Maybe $300 of parts and materials in the final product, but I had lots of screw ups along the way.

Do you see how much controversy you started just in this thread about that gun. It is truely evil, evil will follow it everywhere.

You lost creditability when you suggested that the DOJ/ATF is the best source of legal intel, implying they are never wrong and would never lie, even under oath.... . The best source of legal intel is a reliable attorney as the thread said, not a corrupt government agency that fears an armed society. Its one thing to say that having a type of gun could lead to unjustified harassment but to spread FUD is uncalled for which hurts what little of the 2nd amendment is left in CA(hopefully that will change in the next few months).

Could this be the begining of the evil pistol disease?
Did you bring your permission slip from the DOJ

The cops disagreed and were spreading their FUD, even said it was illegal to have guns/ammo in the same trunk BS. I have no handgun(im 20 and my parents wont gift me) and considered using my saiga for OC but concluded for now to hold off till incorporation case goes. For now i will have "alternative" methods in mind without drawing attention. What was funny is the DOJ on the phone said it was legal to UOC and the cops are lieing, in a email said it depends if the DA wants to....
