Now it's really done. (AK pistol)

Good lord this thing took forever to build. But now with the exception of some final handguard shaping and painting, it's done.






-7" barrel with J-Tac compensator
-Two-setting adjustable gas valve (more could be incorporated)
-Top cover mounted rear sight with A2 aperature using a Chinese top cover
-Shortened AK front sight post
-Flat black Moly Resin over parkerizing
-Jumbopanda mag lock (of course)

Gas piston and regulator made of hardened 440c stainless, gas tube made of 4130 steel, gas block made of 4140 steel.


Btw, I had an EPIC FAIL today while applying the Moly Resin. I hung all of the components up vertically, and sprayed with up and down strokes. Well I spray gun went empty so I refilled it and forgot to put the cap back on, then I did a fast upward stoke and splashed it all over myself, ruining my clothes and getting some in my right eye. I had to run to the sink and stick my face under the faucet for a couple of minutes to clear it out.

I wanted something that resembled a Galil handguard, but with a large hand stop. After I round off the edges a little more, it should look a little less blocky and be a little more comfortable as well, although it feels quite nice already. Probably also going to cut some texturing in it and paint it black. The hand stop should make it easy to bump fire.

I was thinking about using a top cover with a sight on it but it just seems like it would be impossible for it to hold any zero. Although now that I think of it, this build doesnt exactly qualify as a "precision weapon"

No way I'm gonna make these for sale, unless I can find a pro machinist to make the parts. The gas block, gas tube, piston, rear sight, and handguard are all proprietary (so krink handguards will not fit).

My top cover is rock solid and does not have any discernable movement. I haven't test fired it yet but I am sure it will hold zero just fine; the thing is tighter than a crab's *******. I used a smooth Chinese top cover, which is thicker than the ribbed ones, and hand fitted it to the gun to ensure tightness.
