We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

The only issue is the release button. There have been many a debat if a truck (or rack in this case) is considered a locked container if there is a release in the cabin.

I would argue that if police departments consider it safe for use in their vehicles, then it must be safe for anyone else. Also, the push button will be hidden in plain sight probably camouflaged by rewiring the "truck bed light" switch. So, any LEO who lawfully and with warrant in hand searches my truck will see the rack can be be unlocked with a handcuff key, but would probably never figure out the switch.

Although, now that I think about it. There is a switch that warns me when the rear door is open. I could use that switch to automatically unlock the rack whenever the door is opened. The gun rack has a 5 second timer, if in those 5 seconds the shotgun isn't removed the rack locks again.

ALSO, everyone is forgetting the fact that the shotgun and rack are not visible until the rear seat is folded up.

That's the exact company I use and it's very well made. I would buy a police surplus rack designed for an AR or 870 and adjust it to fit. Those racks are pre-drilled in many parts so one can adjust them to fit different configurations of weapons. They are really easy to customize. I paid less than $50 shipped for mine off Ebay.
