Well from a technical stand point the Taurus revolver is just a modified S&W design. The only problem I have had with the Ruger GP100 is rapid reloading because the release design and location does not make for a easy and rapid opening of the cylinder.

I have a Taurus 669 Stainless that was purchased in 1995 and the only problem I have with it is keeping it feed with ammo when I am at the range

I have owned both Rugers and Taurus handguns. At this time I own 8 Rugers and 0 Taurus handguns. After years of service Ruger refurbished 3 of my guns to factory new at no charge. Taurus on the other hand was never able to fix one revolver I owned whose barrel literally unscrewed as I shot it. They eventually gave me credit after many calls. Taurus sucks!

Spend the extra, get the Ruger. Keep it forever and enjoy. The GP100 is a near-perfect revolver. Taurus has never been in the upper registers of the market.
