    357 Mag

I'm looking at two different pistols Ruger GP 100 and Taurus Tracker 627 both with a 6" barrel I have not handled either one, does anyone have these pistols and what do you think?

Ruger is the way to go. Taurus doesn't have nearly as good of a track record when it comes to reliability. The Ruger is a tank and will handle anything you put in it. Taurus has a much higher failure rate. Both have good warrenties but I would rather have a gun that doesn't require me to use it.

Definitely Ruger. I've heard of issues with Taurus over 20yrs ago and still continue to hear about issues with Taurus

Idk personally know about the one's you speak of so can't chime in on those..............But..................

Was at my local gun store, My FFL says check out the DW DA..( that come single action wink wink ) 8inch heavy barrel w/venting came in SS.

It is in a word Awesome. But I already have a 357 DW, so had to turn it down.

P.S. the Barrels change out to any length you want

                      Go with Ruger.

Quality control and costumer service with Taurus is a bit lacking.

Mine is 24 years old and better than the day I bought it. A good trigger job, Hogue Grips, and the High Viz front sight have improved it dramatically. I would not trade it for anything.

Ruger, never had a problem with mine.

Never owned the Taurus, but I know 2 people who owned Taurus .44s and had them go out of timing within 3 years, which turned me off of ever buying one.
