Hi All,
Been reading up on ballistics, ammo types, penetration etc and I came across an interesting article.
Since range time with HD/hunting rounds is a no-no here, I was wondering what you guys do to find a HD/hunting round that shoots similar to your training round.
Also, if you know of any good websites with information on such info (brassfetcher - as example) would love to see it - books too are welcome
.
As example:
I have heard/seen so many people at the range train with the "lightest, softest shooting" round to work on muscle memory, accuracy, speed and proficiency but then say at home they have a hand-cannon or shoulder-shredder for HD - which to me seems counter-intiuative.
Back in MI it was simple, shoot what you use (hunting, HD etc) but here in CA that is a no-no.
So I wanted to ask what you folks do.
Handgun, shotgun, rifle - thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
CNB
PS - because I know someone will say to the countrary, back in Michigan I would just go out to the back 40, set up targets and shoot, but here I am resigned to have most of my time spent at the range - two very different worlds.
