While it's not called stand your ground, we do not have duty to retreat in California. So in essence we do have stand your ground.

The protection under CA Law is nothing close to what Floridians enjoy on this matter.

I too read the posts by Quarterboregunner... an important read by one who has "Been there..Done that"....
I had assumed the LGS policy was specifically structured for this sort of deal...

I have followed that case... watched a bit of the trial and read a lot....

Stand your ground was not envoked nor needed... he, (GZ), couldn't retreat as he was on his back on the ground getting his head bashed against concrete...

"Stand your Ground" was simply a political football tossed about with no relevance to the case....

California has no "Duty to Retreat" from a criminal standpoint...
The founding fathers did a wonderful thing when they included the second amendment to the constitution...

Mmm, stand your ground didn't come up because it does not apply to criminal complaints. Nothing to do with politics.

Stand your ground also has nothing to do with people pinned on their backs incapable of retreating. ( you don't really need a law for situations like that do you?)

              The ridiculous complaints were simple.

GZ had a gun. O my!

GZ would never have pursued that poor little child unless GZ had a big bad gun AND stand your ground on his side.

So back to your OP. Did you really think folks that shot someone and got sued, would post details here?
