Ever have regrets on passing on a purchase?

I regret not buying a Colt 1911 "Day of the Dead" for $1200 a few years back. Heck I should've bought as many as possible.

Fall of 1999 I had the chance to buy 3 Maadi AK's from Krasne's Gun Shop in Downtown San Diego. I bought a big screen instead! Gave it away to AmVets.

80's and 90's I could have bought so much stuff.

Could have scored a 10mm Delta Elite in stainless back in the early 90s for 400 even along with a nickel plated s&W model 27-2 with an 8 3/8" barrel for 200. Could have got a Detonics Jade Escort for 600 at Beach Cities Armory in the early 90s, a Remington XP-100 in 7mm Bench Rest for 400, a Coonan Arms model B for 600 at Union War Surplus in San Pedro...

Yeah, I have a few regrets...

a few years ago i passed on a Wingmaster from the 90s that was adorned with an OEM Remington LE Metal Folding Stock. at $350.00, the shotgun appeared to be in excellent+ condition (98%) and the stock appeared to be in like-new condition. the stock alone can fetch $250.00+ in like-new condition; collectors have been hoarding these stocks for awhile now. i have a few of these stocks, and even knew when i walked out of my lgs that i should have bought that shotgun.

1980s and before… i won't even go there.

When I was working at a shooting range back in the late 90's.......a customer came in selling a Chinese SVD/Tiger........guy wanted six or seven hundred bucks. At the time that was too much money for a young dumb version of me to spend on one gun. If I had known it would increase 10 fold in value, I would've snapped it up in a second. Besides that, I must have passed up countless guns that were great deals. That one sticks out in my mind for some reason though.

Too many to count, a nickled Python for $1100, a Colt Kodiak for $2k, a combat python 3-inch for $3000 and a Python Elite for $1500, all great deals that I passed on and kick myself for, plus many more....

Yup. The 454 Alaskan is one of my examples. I did manage to grab one on gunbroker for $900 last year though. Got lucky.

Another one I missed was the Blackhawk in 327. The prices on gunbroker are ubre-crazy-stupid now.

And the damn roster! I missed several guns that dropped off the roster...

So my lesson from all this is, if I have the slightest interest, and if it's available, buy it NOW. It won't be available tomorrow.

3 colt pythons that were on consignment at turners reseda a little more then a year ago 2.5" 4" and 6" all three in decent condition for less then 3k combined. Called back an hour later and said someone had bought all three

S&W 29 with 6" barrel and both custom and OEM grips. Had less than 50 rounds through it. Easily 98% condition. Back in 1991, it would have been mine for $300.00.
