I was telling my father that the media helps make more kids think about bringing guns to school, not their fault but kids see this on tv all the time and more and more kids are doing it as if its cool or something

Yeah, seriously. It's like teachers don't understand that snitches get stitches. You'd get picked on WAAAYYY more if you actually went and told on your bully than if you just took it. Granted, this situation is a little different, but still.

Seeing you have a Mac Dre avatar (no disrespect big MD fan myself) I could see why you would say "snitches get stitches" im not saying the kids needed to snitch the kid out or stay quiet about it.. the kid who brought the gun to school made his bed by doing so.. just cause he showed off to a few other kids they shouldn't be punished either.. Neither of them was in possession of the gun so why expel these kids.. middle school is a critical time for kids and your pushing them out because they seen a gun another kid had..? Thats BS.. but dont get me wrong I do see the safety precautions of the school administration what if he went on a rampage and these 4 kids could have prevented it.. I understand it.. I just think its silly to kick these kids out of school.

I get it too and I totally see the concern, but they shouldn't have been put on the spot like that, by the kid or the school. They should have just told that to the kids though, they are only turning those kids against authority with this "zero tolerance" one punishment fits all blanket discipline garbage.

Also, it doesn't seem like probable cause to search the kid's house, which is really the parent's house. What would they put on the search warrant? They already have the kid, they already have the gun.

Blaming it on tv? Maybe they should blame the parents for not raising their kids right or teaching kids about firearms. But to blame tv is just an excuse to not accept personal responsibility.
