    11 Guns = Arsenal...per my Significant Other.

And sadly, given how she seems to feel about me having an "Arsenal," I'm not very optimistic about ever achieving "Collector" status. Then again, I've never been accused of being a good listener.
Tell her that an "arsenal" is where guns are made, 11 doesn't even come close.

          i like that one.

i think you're a collector when you can make a range day with just the guns you haven't shot yet. i went out last weekend to blm and the only gun with a round through it was my xd9 that i keep holstered. i have 5 more with 0 rounds before the trip.

or you could be a collector when you take a half hour to pick which guns are making the range trip and which aren't. i have a hard time choosing sometimes and feel bad for the guns that i can't take with me. yes i apologize as i shut the safe. don't judge me!!
          I don't own any guns...they're dangerous.

Lucky! I wish my local BLM opened up for shooting...

About picking your guns for the range, you start feeling like a woman.

A true collector knows that you eat the plain noodles one day and the broth the next. No reason to waste money on a recipe book unless the recipes are called "load data".

                            A Garand

You forgot a few, hard to have such a collection w/o a M1917 Enfield, M1941 Johnson rifle and a M1 Carbine...I'd even include the Krag, they were made in 1900-1907...

To add to the topic, I'd include buying as an investment to durandul's "aesthetic or historical reason" as a collector distinction.

Sorry looking for a fourth... Not a collector, but enthusiast since I will shoot everything I own. I intellectually understand having a collection (or an investment) and not firing... but I , personally, find that somehow really just wrong!

It just may be a few years or more until I get around to firing something again. Too many choices. I know a terrible affliction.

Before I bought my first gun, I had a friend who owned 8 firearms (a mix of rifles, shotguns and pistols). I thought he was nuts to have that many and that it was pointless. Now I own 8 Glock 17s and I'm not even into Glocks.

IMHO, once you need to refer to a spreadsheet to see what you own, then you know you have a problem.
