Offhand with iron sights would be something...
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

I see lots of people at the range who think they can just buy an expensive rifle, the cheapest ammo they can find and magically become expert marksmen.

Only means he has a large wallet.

I'm in the camp that says three shots doesn't prove much. Five is a much better measure of shooting skill, as one of the five will usually open up the group a bit. That said, a dime is fairly large and a good (not great) five shot group will measure around .180 between shot centers. This is from someone who shoots a 6mm BR in club varmint matches. Even with well developed loads, temperature, wind, barrel conditions and the shooter can make tight groups an iffy proposition from day to day.

Yup, and they still can't blame themselves over not breathing properly, lack of trigger discipline or anything else.

That don't mean anything. I got a Noveske AR and a Remmy 700 custom and I'm nowhere near expert level.... but I'm practicing to get there someday

lol, that means nothing. I've seen plenty of people with expensive rifles at the range who make their target at 100 yards look like a shotgun patterning board.

yup - or brag that they can keep 'em all in the black on a SR-1 target . . . at 50 yards
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

Yeah, because I'd say the majority of them are full of it. How many people talk a bunch of crap online (we all do it to some extent, I guess) but wouldn't dare run their mouth in person? Same deal. Some people just love to overcompensate for their insecurities.
