I think you would be better off working on a magnet that attracts gold or diamonds or something else of value and don't worry about the price of non-steel core ammo.

I was thinking is there a way to demagnitize the ammo and our problems are gone?

Did you not pay attention during your basic 4th-grade physics class?

I really don't think you will be "demagnetizing" ammo with steel-alloy/ferrous contents any time soon, unless you pull the bullet and replace it with one that has none of the contents of the former.

Well, maybe if you were an all-powerful mutant you could do it.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

somewhere a high school physics class is missing its idiot.

You can always just buy stainless core steel rounds for those covert range missions. That ought to do it.

              or,

just get back to class, you need it more than most.

If it wouldn't offend gardeners everywhere, I would suggest you may want to just stick (no pun intended) to that.

Kinda like "clip" vs "magazine." I just go with it & refer to steel ammo as "magnetic." Maybe not technically correct but we all know what it means.

They don't allow it up here either :-)

Good to know I can load up my Mini-30 clips with magnetic ammo for a trip to P2K.

I was always under the impression that steel wasn't allowed at indoor ranges for 2 reasons, one being fire risk and second that eventually the steel cores will make their way to the concrete block walls and chip away at it eventually going through it.

I've heard different reasons at different ranges.

P2K must have magical backstops because they just say "No AP, No .50 BMG!"

After hourly fees & gas though I'm better off just buying a couple boxes brass/lead x54R & shooting local.

^^^ I know an indoor range that will rent you a .50BMG. Talk about magical backstops. The force wave of that rifle being shot indoors is ridiculous.
