DeMagnitizing ammo for socal ranges

I admire the out of the box thinking, but if you want to shoot ammo with steel you should just head up north where the ground is wetter and the ranges allow it without safety concerns.

Definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. Once you figure it out though you need to invent a brass magnet so we don't have to bend over to pick up brass.

Although it is not possible to make magnetic bullets non magnetic, it is certainly possible to buy a bullet puller, remove said magnetic bullet, and replace using a non magnetic bullet. This way you are utilizing the primed brass and existing powder, and it makes it possible to re weigh your powder charge for more consistency which has been known to lead to better accuracy.

Uuuhhhhhh, they don't use magnets for bullet cores.

There is a great way to make sure your ammo will not attract a magnet.....

Take the steel out of each bullet core and replace it with lead or copper. Problem solved.

Isn't there some kind of CG Trophy we can award for the OPs inquiry.

While we are working on "demagnetizing" steel, we should also make it impossible for it to give off a spark from an impact with a hard object like another piece of steel, or quartz or flint, or whatever. Then we can go pick up our Nobel Prize for physics, and then shoot surplus ammo at ASR.

Lots of us live in socal and obviously none of the ranges allow steel core ammo.

Which the ROs check by seeing if the ammo attracts a magnet.

I was thinking is there a way to demagnitize the ammo and our problems are gone?

The easy and simple method to demagnetize the ammo at the range is to insert couple hundred dollars bill into the RO's hand. (Just kidding)

FWIW indoor ranges mostly seem concerned about the harder rounds tearing up their back stop. Not sure what's different at P2K.
