One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.

People hate on TM, because TM sucks.
Crap lighting, crap ventilation, cramped lanes(width-wise), cramped shooting bays(distance from the back wall to the shooting line), crap rentals, crap customer service(well, they are minimum wage employees), ZERO supervision of shooters(resulting in all sorts of unsafe behavior that never gets corrected, unless it's because they hear you shooting too fast, they'll complain about that immediately. Sweeping people taking photos for facebook? They don't care), little to no instruction about operation or handling for new shooters(they have a video running on a loop but they don't even make mention of it).
And that's just for shooting. Buying is even worse, extra made up paperwork, approval after approval required, a process requiring them to go over things with a highlighter, repeated unnecessary photocopies of paperwork, if you can get the attention of an employee who isn't chatting with friends, be prepared to spend up to 90 minutes after "i'll take it" to actually leaving the damn store(with a 45 minute wait for BS during pickup), employees that know diddly squat, FUD related policies about evil black rifles, wanting your DL just to buy a cleaning rod with cash, and so on.
The only thing good about that place is the prices, which even then is rarely worth the BS. Have you just simply not been to other ranges in the area? TM is a joke compared to a place like Reed's, and it's not even that far away. No riff-raff, better range, better store, better policies, less FUD, less wait(well, if they're busy, they're busy. But you won't find yourself waiting an hour on paperwork just to complete a transaction), an actual long gun selection(unlike the pittance at TM), EBRs(the owner of Reed's got over his fear of EBRs a couple years ago now), and you can browse guns or even shoot without feeling like you need to be wearing plates.Comment

Ugh.
Last time I was there checking out guns I asked the clerk if he had a safe direction in particular so I could try getting an actual feel for the grip and sights...
You know those 6" pillars in the middle of their little handgun corral? Yeah, he told me to point at that with people standing around it. I told him I'll just point it at the ground since I wasn't about to start aiming at the back of people's heads(the place was crowded at the time).Comment

Really? As for the Obozo episode. They are under contract with Discovery Channel who tends to be "Green" They were asked by the POTUS and they obliged. I have to admit, if I had an opportunity to be in the Oval Office standing with the current POTUS I may be a little awed... More that I was in the Oval Office but hey, what ever.
I doubt I could stomach being in the presence of BHO and would probably refuse the invite.Comment
