This is serious. I have a coworker who is on Facebook claiming to be trying to obtain an AR to go postal. He's not right in the head and has a history of substance abuse. So who do I report him to?

Ya, if he is really saying that, call the police, do you know where he lives?Comment

Make sure your boss and human resources is also informed, and given the pertinent Facebook pages. They might have an issue with him. Especially if he specifically mentions he place of employment in his tirades.
Or, you could just MYOB, make friends with him and hope he doesn't shoot you if he cracks at the office.
And, too much salt is bad for you NaCladdict.Last edited by SonofWWIIDI; 03-17-2014, 5:57 PM.Sorry, not sorry.

Call your local police dept and report it ASAP. More stupid people winning stupid prizes....Comment

Gather evidence, print out dialog or save the webpages. Collaborate with coworkers to confirm any urgency. Definitely contact the police. If you've been threatened, get a restraining order. That could make him fail any NICS checks. If you're in fear, consider HR at work. Worst thing is not doing anything.Originally posted by Colonel David Crockett"Ya'll can go to hell, I'm goin' to Texas!"

I agree with the above posts. Call your local pd and inform them of the situation. Also, inform your employer of the situation, too. You can help prevent serious injuries or death to your co-worker and others. Good luck and I hope all goes well.Comment

I don't think he's going to do it. I just want do what I feel I should. I'm not going to post links or name him because he has a family and it's a sad situation. The guy is mentally ill.
He hasn't posted any direct threats. Just vague references to some weird book about soldiers returning from war who are addicted to violence. Cops seemed a little hung up on that. I do know he feels several of my coworkers are responsible for him getting demoted. If I were one of them I'd feel afraid, I know at least one is.
A few years ago before anyone knew he wasn't right in the head he approached me about helping him buy a gun legally. I kept putting him off until he gave up or forgot. For some run unjustified reason I didn't think he should own a gun. Boy am I glad I trusted my gut.
Right now he's flat broke. I don't think he could get a gun. I hope I'm right about this.Comment
