I would leave negative feedback if i don't hear back from him because it's my wasted time & gas.

^ ^ ^ +1If I'm buying I always exchange phone #'s as well if I'm selling. I've never experienced what you have. We usually talk by phone the day of the deal, just so I know he/she is still good with it, and to let him know I'll be there.
Never had any problems, but I guess there is always a first time.Comment

Send him a PM invite to this thread so he can have his say. Also post his user name for clarity.
The CG community can then at least then provide a fair opinion once both sides have told their story.Originally posted by Kestryll......yes I'm an idiotComment

If he did that to you what will stop him from doing it again. You should bus ride his ***. That's some pretty weak b.s. if you ask me.Comment

This will be my last post in this thread, didn't expect it to get so many responses so quick. Anyways, thank you all for your responses and your thoughts. I am going to message a moderator and proceed from there.sigpic

Perhaps he is laying in a ditch someplace, barely conscious and unable to reach his phone. Or he had an emergency and is in the hospital or there with someone in his family. If he hasn't been on the forum, and hasn't communicated with OP (didn't see any mention of that by the OP), then maybe he should get a little slack.
If on the other hand, he just blew the OP off...ban hammer and negative feedback!!!!!
Just saying.Sorry, not sorry.

I guess there is a feeling out phase. The buyer needs to feel you out and you need to know that they are not a scrub, just window shopping with better sh*t to do, or no money at your scheduled appointment.
When you get 50 or 150 of these under your belt, you kinda get a feel for people (if that is possible, online). It's weird but true. I've gone back and forth with some real winners, and believe me, it gets rough. I've had scrubs pegged after one PM. You will know when it is time to bow out and not do business with that person. Hopefully it is before you spend your money on gas for the meet.
I am on the fence about the feedback thing. The mods here are really busy and I would hate to bug them with some retaliatory feedback beef. I would out the douc... dude here and keep your feedback as is. He will leave a negative if you do... no question.Comment

I've always thought that a minimum post count requirement would be beneficial to the marketplace, would weed out some of the folks who take advantage of the forum.Comment

Neutral feedback is for everything else, including transactions which are not completed. Use the comment section to describe why you gave the rating you did. Retaliatory feedback is not tolerated and should be reported to a moderator. See Rule #16 regarding Marketplace Disputes.DavidComment

ebay works better, imho. There are so many shady cats in the marketplace. They think it is Ebay and just take a bunch of PMs and sell it to whoever offers the most. No matter who PMd first. I have had it happen a few times. Generally this happens with new members who are only here to sell and have nothing else to contribute to our forum. I believe we should require at least 500 posts before you can access the marketplace as a buyer or seller.
I think that it's 50 posts before a person can even access the classifieds on either Xdtalk or Beretta forum, or both. I think that is a reasonable number of legitimate posts to give access to potential buyers or sellers.
500 posts is unfair to all the good and honest people who want to buy or sell their firearms or accessories, or non-firearms- they may not be die-hard calgun participants, but are serious enough to post 50 legitimate posts (not 'tagged' posts like some of the idiots on here do and try to get post count up).
This is also a good way to get additional people who might not otherwise have taken an interest in the forums.Last edited by ifilef; 03-01-2014, 8:36 AM.Comment

Not true. I had a negative feedback because A guy lied and bailed on my way there. He had zero feedback and 10 posts, his stayed mine was removed.Comment

I would PM a different mod because I had a mod remove a retaliatory negative rating. All I had to do was forward my pms and it was taken care of.Originally posted by barrageThat's because Excelsior threads are like toilet bowls.
