Thanks fellas, and I just pray none of you guys get hung out to dry by the same guy.

I would wait and see what he says before leaving negative feedback. If he just flaked and never responds to you then you should leave negative feedback. If he has a good excuse then I would give him the benefit of the doubt since he has a high rating. With that said, it better be a damn good excuse considering how easy it is to pick up a phone.

Negative enough to start a thread but not leave - feedback? At least throw his name out there so he won't waste anyone else's time. Or at least neutral feedback so others are aware of potential flakiness.

OP just feels scared, no balls. This just shows your immaturity on how to deal with people. The reason you have the rating system is to safeguard the integrity of each transaction and there are Mods that will deal with any thing beyond your control.

No you shouldn't leave negative feedback. Although it was messed up no cash was exchanged which means no transaction took place.

There are so many shady cats in the marketplace. They think it is Ebay and just take a bunch of PMs and sell it to whoever offers the most. No matter who PMd first. I have had it happen a few times. Generally this happens with new members who are only here to sell and have nothing else to contribute to our forum. I believe we should require at least 500 posts before you can access the marketplace as a buyer or seller.

Leave him negative feedback. No excuse for him to NOT contact you and give you a heads up. Time is money and at the end of the day, he wasted your time.

Personally, I'd just post his username and avoid dealing with him again. It's one thing to decide against buying, another not to show up and a whole other animal to deliberately start ignoring you.

Either you're not telling us the whole story (not saying you aren't) or the guy isn't worth the time. I'm sorry you had to drive out that way and I hope you have something economical and not a pickup like me.
So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

With a truck & gas near 4$ I wouldn't be too happy. I'd say leave a negative. Things happen, I get that, he should have communicated. I hate my time being wasted!

Since everything was agreed upon I would have gone to the FFL too. Maybe his phone died, he left it at home, whatever. Arrangements were made. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. But the fact that he has not contacted you nor replied back to your attempts to contact him is b.s.

This guy flaked, wasted your time and money, and doesn't have the common courtesy to man up and say "Sorry, I had a change of heart, found something cheaper", whatever.

he has nothing but positive iTraders so I guess he's been a stand-up guy in the past
If he flaked on you without explanation he will flake on others without explanation. You may not feel comfortable giving negative feedback for this guy and that's okay and your call. However I think this type of scenario is exactly what negative feedback is for. If I were dealing with him I would like to know that there is a distinct possibility this guy may flake on me too.

leave neutral feedback, I've done it in the past to no-shows. What can he do or say to that?

here's the way I handle it, if someone flakes online (ie person says they will take it but then has too many questions about it and drops off), I don't think twice about it and move on to the next person. But if someone wastes my time/gas with no reasonable explanation, they are getting a negative review

And if this punk decides to NEG you back, tell the mods and get them slapped for doing it.

I treat any flakes like a CL, too damn bad for them they just ruined a good deal, move to the next guy.

I hope you do not go ahead and listen to any pansies telling you to just ignore it or turn the other cheek. WE NEED TO KNOW WHO THE FLAKEY LOWBALLING JERKS ARE. That way we can STOP doing business with them, get them cut out and get CG back to a decent place to sell instead of letting these douche nozzles run around flaking on everyone and bringing this place down.

                        WHO ARE THEY?

I have been pretty lucky in the past but some times you get some inconsiderate people who are over 1 hour late to the time your supposed to meet, that has happened to me a few times, literally over an hour, I mean why agree to the time if you know you might be late or know you have no intentions of being on time, its just inconsiderate and down right rude and disrespectful of the other guy that has to waste his time waiting for you, we all have better things we could be doing, just don't be late, I mean up to 10 min is fine, understandable, unexpected traffic or a accident maybe but anything over that 10 min. is not cool!

                              Negative Feedback

Based on your attempts to contact him and his refusal to answer it, I would say leave negative feedback. Sometimes you gotta take a lump when you screw up.

Call me no balls or whatever you want, I was just going off majority consensus when I wrote the post. Thought I would be doing the wrong thing according to the responses I saw. The person that was second in line is grateful that he flaked at any rate, and I'll be meeting him tomorrow.
